Cleric Questions: Healing Dragonmark & AC

Hi everyone!

My question its about toi running a halfling cleric (pure healer). It's worth to adquire the Jorasco Dragonmark line? Or better keep on focus in spell penetration?

Second question: with a DEX of 10, wil be better to wear the heaviest plate I can found, or better robes? Only for AC, I mean (magic features its a different thing).

for a caster ac becomes obsolete when you go to gianthold. so dex is, apart from your reflex save, unimportant. you may want to wear a fearsome of heavy fortification robe or something similar helpful.

if you going the dragonmark route you will pretty much limit yourself to be a healbot. you spent 4 of your 7 feats for dragonmark + empower healing.
personally im a fan of the dc caster build.
spell pen
spell foci (most likely evocation for bladebarrier and implosion and cometfall)
empower
maximize
heighten
quicken
you still be as good a healer as it can be without the dragonmarks and can deliver a serious punch (e.g. solo all ingame that is soloable).

on the other hand, the dragon marks often come in really handy. there are several situations where you can use the dragonmarks even if you can't use the spells.
examples are beholders, when you got bees in hox or when being feebleminded (which you can even remove with the heal dragonmark). I also liked it for topping people off with the lowest dragonmark as you get 9 charges of it. Well, until i got the fvs capstone that gives unlimited cure lesser.

As blitzschlag said you'r build is pretty focused on healing that way, but if it's what you want to do it can come in pretty handy. And it gives you much more "converted" sp than mental toughness and imp mental toughness, tough you are limited how to spend those "sp".

edit: oh, and since the last patch the dragonmarks aren't anymore on the same timer as their spell. which means you can throw out 2 heals without a cooldown in between.
