Default Anyone else running their Internet through their cel phone?

Hey, since my ISP can't seem to keep their service online very well I added a plan on my phone to let me use it as a broadband modem (It is a Windows Mobile Smartphone) It isn't as fast as cable modem, but it works very well and surprisingly the game runs great with this connection. Does anyone else use a connection like this? If so do they have any advice on how to get it to work even better with the game? I haven't tried voice chat while playing yet not sure if that would use too much bandwidth and cause rubberbanding and such, LOL.

    Any tips would be appreciated.

    Thanks

OK, let me refine my question a bit, LOL. Does anyone have any advice on what game settings to adjust to free up bandwidth so I can use voice chat without worrying about excessive lag? If I can get this to work well for the game I am seriously considering making this my primary net connection for a while to cut down on monthly bills. (I'm sure I'll end up spending at least half of what I save on net expenses on more Turbine points anyway, LOL)

So far the game plays GREAT with this connection. even in crowded instances (marketplace 1 for example)

    any thoughts would be appreciated.

btw I am running Windows Vista Business on a HP Pavilian computer with dual AMD 64 bit processors. My vid card is a Radeon HD2600pro 512mb PCI-E card. I'm stuck with a Sound Blaster Live 24 bit sound card but it works for what I need it to right now, and I have 2 gigs of ram.

    yesh, LOL

OH the phone connects to the computer through the USB port (the computer keeps the phone charged while It's connected too)

If this should be in a different forum please let me know.

I'm done rambling now I promise, LOL

I havent heard of this being done since that old G4 television show "The screen savers" ......Kevin Rose did something like this with a phone that wasnt set up to do anything like that. Hes pretty accessible has his own news and technology site...... u could hit him up for a "dark Tip" as he calls them.

Anyways..... I would turn off all combat feedback in the UI settings. Combat feedback is a huge drain, maybe even more so than the graphics (its what causes lag in the shroud for most ppl). Once thats done, see what you can handle graphically and take a step back if u need to. Like I said though, the biggest drain is combat feedback ...also your pc pinging all the other live players but not a whole lot you can do about that.

Well, so far things are working GREAT. Not experiencing much lag (not really any more than I do using cable modem).

The only real drawback is the fact that when someone calls me it pauses the internet, LOL. But all I have to do is hit ignore and the net is there again right away

It works fine with voice chat as well and I don't have to turn off the combat feedback.

I haven't tried voicechat in a raid yet though.

I am seriously considering making this my primary internet source. I get net consistantly even during bad weather. AND when I get my laptop I can use the cel with the laptop to play DDO anywhere (hope my boss doesn't catch me on that one, hahaha)

Thanks for the feedback and help. BTW turning off the combat feedback DID speed up the connection to the game, so if I am in a raid with voice chat I may have to do that but that is very livable.

Doing my net this way saves me about 40 bucks a month guess that means I can
buy more Turbine Points each month now, haha.
