    Default Rogue Builds

I've been looking around on here a lot and seen several different types of rogue builds. Out of the ones I've seen, I think I like the 13 rogue/6 ranger/1 something builds the most, though I suppose there's definitely something to be said for the ridiculous number of skills you can have with a 19 rogue/1 something build.

My question is, are all the extra skills worth giving up 10% attack speed and the free dual wield feats you get by going ranger? Also I've seen a lot of people mention acrobat as the prestige class to go with in the the 13/6/1 build - is that accurate?

Don't think the skills are worth it, when you got more skills than you can use with common sense, what benefit do you get from yet more?

Only things that speaks for 19/1 is Assassin III, which is said to be close to non-working within elite quests, otherwise described as "neat parlor trick".

Assassin II is a j/choke, I never could make use of the poisons, maybe I didn't use them correctly, but I think some might not even work as intended. Thats why most go for Acrobat II.

Possibly if Acrobat III would be implement, we might have a strong argument for rogues > 13 lvls, but as it stands my current Lvl 17 pure rogue receives not much love from me, as she is gimped IMHO beyond what single LR could do.

    -oops double-

to add: the main argument of 19 lvl vs 13 is.

10d6 vs, (7d6 sneak damage + feat damage on non sneak). My personal oppinion is, once you get sneak attack it doesn't matter, as the mob is dead so fast anyway.

Follow up question then since it sounds like the 13/6/1 vs 19/1 is at least semi-answered (feel free to toss your own inputs if you haven't though!)

It seems like there are a lot of choices for the 1 level, including fighter, barbarian, and monk. What are the pros and cons of each? To me it seems like 1 level of fighter makes the most sense, but I might be missing something...

fighter gives you 10+con mod hp, and a feat.
Barb gives you rage and 12+con mod hp
Monk gives you 6+con mod hp, and wisdom mod to AC.

The 1 level of monk is taken for the "exploiter" build which is supposedly the all-around-best build.
So umm, yea... That's how I died... By they way, has anyone seen my corpse? It isn't where I left it...

The Exploiter is an 18/1/1 build that is Ranger based. It is a very different build than a 13/6/1 rogue base.

I must have the unpopular opinion that assassin is the way to go... Aside from undead and giants in reavers refuge, and of course red+ names and the occasional construct, I assassinate everything I find. Very effective in at least 60% of the situations I find myself in, particularly the shroud, almost all vale quests, half the reavers refuge stuff, and even in Amrath when doing slayers. The vorpal from sneak attacks in assassin 3 is awesome too.. The other day I was in monastary elite helping a guildie get level 20 and I assassinated a monk, then the next 2 shots were vorpals on the next 2 monks.. 3 shots, 3 kills, and I never had to change my weapons from my GS. Oh, and it is great fun to assassinate a mob with a heal scroll in your main hand..

For a good 13/6/1 rogue read my Krythen build (check my sig)

however, Assassin III is absolutely delicious.... I would go with a 19/1 or 18/2 or 18/1/1 build.

I went 18/2 acrobat monk. Using quarterstaffs.. you can also build a 17/3 acrobat monk and get fists of light... and 13/6/1 acrobat monk.. get wind stance II. These lines and types of build will give you the fastest THF swing speed in the game, by 18.5% and 20% respectively.
Good dps...good survivability....high to very high ac.

If you are going to do a all out dps twf based build.. the 13/6/1 str based tempest assasin twf using kopeshs really cant be beat. The 1 would be fighter...
    Medium survivability...low ac....very high dps.

Sneak attack is a great boon.. the extra 3d6 you get from taking 19 is a TON of damage over time when you are fighting on the backside of a boss mob... which is the only time when dps really counts.

All a matter of play style... do you want to zerg with no concerns... or do you not care and always want to keep a healer around and be the dps machine.

Do you do extra damage or get a bonus hit when flanking without the flanking enhancements?

You always get +2 to-hit when flanking base, before enhancements.
