    Default Handwraps . . .

yes - this is the ranger forum. Got my Exploiter up to 14th level and I'm LOVING the speed I get with kamas in Wind-Stance, I plan to use this for vorpals (and support weapons like paralyzers) and against un-critable targets like undead.

Do handwraps count as TWF? The animations seem fast as heck but that can be deceiving. I'm thinking a good pair of wraps will work great for killing skels.

Handwraps work with TWF and Imp. TWF, you need both, and you will see the increase in attack speed.

Thanks - with 12 ranger levels I'd hope to have that

You can't use handwraps with Tempest.

You will get the extra attacks of Itwf and gtwf but, no 10% speed and ac from tempest.

However, handwraps do not count as TWF for purposes of tempest or two-weapon defense.

Well, rather strangely... Handwraps count as twf, but not as two weapons... So, the twf feats will help with handwraps, but two weapon defense, two weapon blocking and the tempest attack speed and ac for wielding two weapons don't apply... Unless something's been changed very recently...
That post I just made, it's going to bring me shame one day, maybe it already has.

    Correct.
Tempest's bonus' apply when two weapon fighting, ie: having two weapons equipped. Handwraps, while acting as two weapons for the purposes of the twf feats, are only one weapon. Since you only have one weapon equipped, no Tempest goodies apply.

Use Kama's so you'll get tempest speed, ac and you can stay in wind stance with no armor on.

That's the plan but I was thinking for Skells and Sorjeck.
