I seen a multiclass the other day that surpassed 20, How is that possible???

Epic Levels: after level 20 you can only gain XP in epic quests... this allows you to progress past 20

I believe that characters that True Resurrect will show in the social panel as 20 (representing their past life levels) plus their current resurrection's levels.

Edit** Maybe not according to the folks above. My apologies if incorrect...

Sometimes when a character True Resses it will show the total 20 from the capped toon and then the additional levels.

Mine has shown 33 levels Cleric, 1 Monk.

Also, icons get screwed up in game as well. I have a guildy who is 20 pure Rogue and it shows him as 20 Rogue, 1 Barbarian, even though he's never taken a level of Barb.

It's just a bug that's been around for a while now. I have a cleric that is pure cleric but shows on friends list as cleric/ranger/Wizzy lol. Even in her past life...she was pure. I wish they would fix this..it's annoying

It is a glitch during character creation. If you make a character, then delete him, and make another character with the same name it can sometimes show that character having more levels than it actually does.

Yes the error definitely comes from having a true resurrection and taking different classes in the next life.

AKA Sorc 20 reincarnates into Wiz 16/Rogue 2 then you have Sorc 20/Wiz 16/Rogue 2.

But it is not EXCLUSIVE to only TR's. I have seen this on some players that I know have not TR'd but are merely capped.

Still its a bug that has been around for a little while.

Correct...not only TR's. My cleric has had this glitch before she was ever TR'd

I have a theory, because I've seen this bug mostly on "common" names, that it happens when someone tries to create a character with a name that's already taken, and the level of the toon that was attempted with the taken name gets tacked onto the preexisting character.

And more recently, when somebody TRs, they show up as the collection of the most recent level of all classes they've ever had.

Yep, knew about that one, it can make for some interesting splits (like my sorc I TRed into a barbarian )

If happens even without TR, but just not as many extra levels.

Nonsense, there aren't epic levels in DDO. Its a bug, I've a friend showing up as a 23... with one lvl of each class. He didn't TR, or ever capped at 20.

My friends list bugs like this all the time. I have watched one in the list go from a level 20 Bard to a level 43 (at last checking), He was listed as a 20/1/1/1 but level 43

Once the info on a given freind gets "corrupted" it stays as such between runs. So it could be related to the client side caching the values and not saving/restoring them correctly. Plus they may only be updated again when the given character levels up, so if they were level 20 before, their data stays corrupted as they never level again.

Makes a lot of sense, if you delete a character something still lingers in DDO Datahouse.

I deleted my first character at lvl 4 to do another class (when having 2 slots max), months later I made a new character and looked if the name was still free, it was, and after I created a new char with the same name, my old friends list of the first character reappeared again! (Wondered if this also would happen if you take a name somebody else had before, but I doubt it)
