Question DPS TWF powerhouse build from a new player

    Greetings everyone,

I just recently took the plunge into DDO, and found the game wonderful for joy of character building. I've been playing around with this build for maximum crits and DPS, and plan on rolling this character in the next day or so. I'd love some input on what I've done right and wrong, as well as thoughts on my progression.

Basic premise: Crit as often and as hard as possible
Weapon of Choice:Scimitar (for crit range)
Defenses mostly an afterthought, after maximizing DPS.

    Thanks for looking!

i hate to be judgmental, but the second i got to 10 con i stopped. if you ask me- no class or build should ever::: under any circumstance::: should ever start with under 12 con. and if you are melee- 14 con. Seriously 10 con is an epic mistake.

First, please check other posts there are plenty of pure ftr TWF builds out there (no point in rehashing for the 100th time)

Now to the obvious stuff, 10 con is not death nail for a 28pt build. Though, should definetly consider dropping dex to 15 (buy +2 tome) and starting 12 con. Or better yet got WF or dwarf and get the +2 base con and +2 con enhancements (16 con before tomes or items).
Next, power crit, dodge, two weap def, two weap block, mobility are all wastes. Drop them and take saves or toughness to make up for low con.
Also, scimitar is 4th or 5th in TWF dps. If human or WF go with kopesh (you have plenty of feats), if dwarf go DAxe.
Finally, take the haste boost enhancements.

The 10 Con is pretty egregious. Dead fighters don't DPS. As a human, I would drop STR to 17 and put those 3 points into Con, which will even out to 18 and 14 with the Human Adaptability enhancements.

Now if you insist on 18 STR on a 28-pointer, there's two other ways around this:

Either stay human and take your Dex to 15, and commit to buying a +2 Dex tome at some point from the AH.

If the +2 tome is uncomfortable, go Elf. Start with a cheap 18/16/12 build. Get enhancements for Scimitar damage.

Your feats could use a little tailoring.

Power critical is a horrible feat, especially on a Kensai who already has Critical Accuracy enhancements.
Dodge and Mobility are horrible feats since you have no interest in AC, and your to-hit will rarely be a problem
Cleave will interrupt your attack sequence, thus [i]lowering[i] your DPS. Not great.
Two Weapon Blocking is useless. 2DR won't save your life; if you don't want to get hit.... MOVE

Instead, consider stunning blow, quick draw, an extra toughness or saves feats, and other things that will keep you killing.

    The enhancements:
Armor Mastery is expensive, and your AC won't be within the range to benefit. Go for your fighter haste boost, which gives you significant DPS.

You can also drop things like Fighter Mobility to open up more DPS-inclined enhancements. If elf, definitely take elven Scimitar enhancements; if human, Human Versatility for the +5 damage boost.

put con to 14 and use all your general feats for toughness u gonna need it heh
for kensai 3 and other usefull feats
wpn focus slash, power attack, weapon specilization slash, imp crit slash, kopesh, greater wpn focus slash, greater weapon spec slash, two weapon fighting, imp two weapon fighting, greater two weapon fighting, superior focus slash, stunning blow<<dont know if that fits
    the rest should be toughness

I echo what has been said about CON. You're dps is 0 when you're dead. Ditto on some of the feats you don't need described already.

Fighter Haste boost is the best APs you can spend. When you are power surged with Kensai II and on a haste boost IV you'll lay out an incrediable number of attacks. Scimitar is a very viable option. You will crit at 30% on them, 35% on them if you go Kensai III. It's questionable whether or not Kensai III is worth it in pre-reqs, but you have a lot of enhancements you can drop so you might as well plan for it now.

You don't need flank mastery. You will already have an insane to hit rate as a kensai in your chosen weapon.

Get at least two levels of human healing boost. Since you'll have no AC to speak of, you might as well help the Clerics out with a +20% boost to their heals on you.

Kensai get bonuses to their DCs, so there is an argument to be made for you making a 'smart' fighter. If you get an INT of 12 with a +1 tome you can get combat expertise and things like improved trip. Pushing your strength up to 18 for the slight extra damage might not be as beneficial as being able to trip a bunch of things. Going from 16 to 18 STR is only +1 dmg (hit will be irrelevant as a kensai you will get a ridiculously high to hit) but it costs you quite a bit in base ability scores.

Default heh well truth be told

if you have 7 toughness feats your con can be 10 your fort save will suffer but u wont lose all that many hp compared to 7 feats in toughness that only a human fighter can do(monks dont count)
    but its still 40 hp
