    Default The Bard's Song

New to the bard have a question.

The scenario, having joined a party we jump into a quest. I start playing my lute and everyone runs off. I know I am not good at it but does everyone have to be so up front about how bad the song is???

How does Inspire Courage work? Is it area effect? Can I run after the party and just ignore the fact that they have their fingers in their ears? Will they get the buff if I am chasing them?

    Thanks for you help.

Yes, playing a song doesn't impede your movement in any way, so best thing to do is run with your party and try to position yourself so that the song hits everyone. It is area effect centered at your target (centers at yourself with an object, enemy, or no target) and much larger than spell AoE buffs (at least 3x the radius), and the effect is applied at the end of the song when your character starts to stuff his/her lute away.

Default The Bard's Song - Thanks

Cool, I can do that. I will ignore their jeers and run after them. Is good to know too, that I can start my song and plan on where I want to be for the buff. I realize it is not my responsibility to buff those who don't stick around, but at least I can try to accommodate the fleet of foot.

Another thing you can do is type in chant something like, "On me for Songs" or "Songs at next door", or simply "Group for Buffs". If you are in a good group or a group that is not zerging then most will group up. Get in the habbit of ending your songs with an extended Haste. That will keep on the haste junkies next to you for all your songs.

Lastly, if you tell people in chat and they still don't get in range, forget them. Don't feel bad for someone using team work.
