    Default Stalwart Fighters needed?

    Hi all,

Recently returned to the game and after much deliberation and a bunch of rerolls, finally settled in on a Fighter. I am hoping to make a Stalwart Tank as my guild currently does not have one. Was just curious how important it is to have a stalwart tank in a raid, or later game quest? I am planning on using Mrwizard's Cannon fodder build found here http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=216140 with a few changes as I prefer Dwarves to humans.

    Thanks for the time.

Tank type characters can be situationnally very useful. And completely useless the rest of the time. Make sure your tank can also dish out DPS when needed. I just checked that thread and it looks ok, but pick up power attack.

power attack would require losing CE while on...which is a big hit to ac.
The build adds the damage enhancements and feats to make up for the 5 points of damage as best as it can, putting it even.

Until the final raid gear stuff is done (chattering ring, ToD set) that 5 is hard to say goodbye to since it usually is the difference between no damage and getting hit a lot.

To gain power attack would mean taking away an important 'to hit', ac, or damage feat that will always be on versus one that is not going to be on much. In that build I found no room for it. Although there are 4 feats that can be switched around to use it as one.
After going 20 levels and all the raids, I can say the 5 AC is needed for better dps over time, especially in pugs.

I find a dps/high ac tank to be awesome and completely useful.
The stalwart also has a stance that adds +4 to str and con, not as a boost, but as an 'always on' until shut off. Not quite the +8 str boost of a kensai, but again, it can be 'always on'.

For sustained dps, continued survival, the tank build is quite useful. Couple this with the ability to intim everything and survive their attacks, you can help the party resources tremendously while beating things down.

Any build is useful if played and built right. Any build is useless if played poorly or built wrong.

I have no doubt you will enjoy this build when you get to end game and your guild will find it a great asset.
