Ok, long story short: Nobody on my server wanted to do any stone farms in running with the devil. So with a hireling(ooo boy bad choice) I decided to do Running the the Devils on Normal(Turbine nerfed stone drops on casual for some reason) and everything was going ok. At least, until the 2nd final boss came about.
For some reason, Taeron Rimond acts weird for a boss NPC. First off, from what I noticed, most NPC'S usually stop, then cast their spell, and finally move if need be. This boss is different. Most of the time, he casts the spell, THEN he stops, and then moves. It doesnt happen all the time though. Thats the first thing that I noticed was odd. Perhaps its because hes a melee/spellcasting npc, but I have no idea. I dont think that contributes to the odd thing, but who knows?
The second thing I noticed was his aggro towards enemies. If he finds a target, he is RELENTLESS unless someone intimidates him(Assumption). While I was running around doing no damage whatsoever to him, my hireling wizard was using meteor swarm, chain lighting, exc., on him, and all he did was heal himself while casting annoying debuffs and that annoying light spell. Its like once he chooses a target, he will not stop until you are dead. To prove this, I summoned a Hezrou to help fight him, and while me and my hireling were dealing damage, he kept whooping on the hezrou until it was dead. Maybe its because my hireling produces no aggro with spells, so that could be another hireling issue. Or just another odd thing with Taeron. Im not sure. (By the way I was using Darnis as my hireling. Might as well have soloed the quest myself if I knew it was gonna be this bad) So thats another odd thing about him.
The third thing is a bit hard to even count as an oddity. Im sure that, when Turbine developed this nightmare-of-a-quest, they thought that everybody would just pile Taeron Rimond in the same room and not think of being outside that room he is in. Well, when I ran away a couple times to use the shrine, or when I just ran around the place in general, sometimes he would get stuck behind a low elevated rock of some sort, or in another place, but it wasn't gamebreaking, all he would do is stop if you got far away and act normal till he sees you again. I guess that could count as other oddity with the boss, but normally, a party usually would not run away unless they were doing awful, so maybe its not something that could be counted as odd under normal circumstances.
But overall, I just noticed a few odd things about this boss that probably nobody else would notice unless they tried soloing or duo'ing with a hireling. Im not sure if some of the other bosses in vale of twilight share problems because they're minor and easily hidden in a quest, but its these small things you notice that end up making a difference over time. Has anyone else noticed other similar problems with bosses in either the Vale of Twilight area and pretty much anywhere in DDO:EU? (If not then I think I've reached a new level of insanity. :-P)
