    Default bard armor spell fail chance

    I know that bards can wear light armor and cast their spells.

    If, say, I opened a new character, took 1 level of bard, then proceeded to level up as a wizard, would I be able to cast my wizard spells wearing light armor with no fail chance? or does that effect only apply to bard spells?

    Is there another thread I should be looking at?

    Only spells you learned as a bard. But good try

    Other threads have pointed out that:

    a) Bard splashes do in fact get no ASF for arcane spells cast;
    b) This is not WAI and will get fixed at some point in the future... "players should not design builds around this";
    c) The value of armor to most casters is so small that the "exploit" actually harms most characters.

    Default the quick answer

    Yes...
    If you were, lets say level 1 Bard and level 19 Wizard and only wore light armor. Then all of your spells would have a zero percent arcane failure.

    Currently (for many years now) it has been broken this way. The Dev's know about, the players have been warned that it will be fixed in the future.

    To test this, simply make a forth level character as a veteran.

    You can always farm -asf items (there are a couple rare drops) and use mithral light armor and a mithral small shield. This would be a lot of work for a little bit of ac.

    Personally I have a bard, and using light armor, I might as well be naked 1/2 tha time with that particular toon . Only 2 things that keep that character alive is displacement and evasion from a 2 lvl rogue dip.
