If you want to dual-wield, a Paladin can do that just as effectively (er, maybe a bit less effectively on 28 pt non-drow).
Again, I'll direct you to the same link many tried before in your Pally thread: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=218542

Fighter gives you a little more freedom then the Paladin class in that you get many many more feats (so you can take exotic weapon proficiency like Khopesh), but you lose out on Pally exclusive burst damage like Smite and Divine Sacrifice.

So maybe decide on a class first, then ask for a build once you've got your mind made up.

Then I'd suggest you make the fighter first, as the stat distributions are a little more straight forward. A paladin requires points in almost every stat, so it is incredibly easy to mess up (or get to a point where your character is doing what you wanted as well as you wanted).

For a Fighter, I'd probably suggest something along the lines of a TWF Khopesh user. Max your STR, get a high CON. I'd say a minimum of 14 CON if you want to be in the thick of things, but the higher the better. Make sure you DEX is at least 16 for a TWF build (17 is required after tomes to get the best TWF feats). I say min of 16 since you can get 17 with just a +1 tome (which is much easier to get then a +2).

I browsed through the Fighter forums for you, and this seems like a pretty straight forward, user-friendly build:http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=231816

Take your fighter out for a spin and learn the ins and outs of the game. I wouldn't get too attached to any of your characters (yet) since there's likely to be a lot of re-rolling (remaking a character) once you get an idea of what your stats do for you. On the bright side, you can pass down your old equipment and money so it'll be easier on the new guy.

    Happy hunting.

All I can say is don't follow the pre-made paths. Select custom, then follow that threads build. It will turn out much better then the pre-built path.

There's definitely a bunch of stuff to learn about the game, which is why I said don't get too attached. The more you learn, the more likely you are to realize you messed up your build. But then you'll be able to fix it. Remember, it's easier to re-roll at level 4 then it is when you hit double digits.

The stats can be a little intimidating, but luckily there are only a couple things to remember for making a Two Weapon Fighter:

    Dexterity:
You will need to have a BASE 17 Dex by the higher levels for Improved and Greater Two Weapon Fighting feats (these give you more attacks). Most builds you see online start with a 15 or 16 Dex, and assume you will buy/find a +2 Dex tome to get 17.
However, Aranticus has a nice elven Dervish build that starts with 17Dex for a new player without access to tomes.

You can easily substitute Kopeshes for Scimitars on the Dervish Build for a little more DPS. Just take the Exotic Weapon: Kopesh feat at some point, and don't train the Elven Melee enhancements. (This will make more sense in-game!)

    Constitution:
Hit points and boosts your FORTITUDE saving throws (against poisons, death magics, stuns, &c.). Never want to see this below 14 on a Fighter. 16 Preferable. 18 only possible if you don't go for Dex -- i.e. no TWF.

    STRENGTH:
Influences you to-hit and damage. Always keep as high as possible, without going below 15/17 Dex and 14 Con.
