You don't get your large in part 4 so you then click the portal right away before any of the casters have shrined.

This has to stop.

it's only a problem if the party sucks and doesn't know how to kite while casters/clerics fill up in the pools... the fool that did it will probably die anyway, but as long as somebody can kite...

People used to try and grief us by running through the middle of part two.

That didn't work out for the griefers.

After part 4, I would change where people stand when they are ready to go through...you guys gather right in front of the portal, right? We gather over by the rest shrine until everyone's ready. That would single out who's getting too close to the portal before the group is ready.

It would be quicker to recall and reform with a group of competent players then wait for all the casters to use the pools. Now with everyone having a ton of teleport rods from the birthday event you dont even need to waste time recalling

Problem is nowadays, there is such a stark dichotomy of players out there.

I guess this is why I see guys like Gax, Impaqt and so many others that I respect, creating teams from only their friends list or filling primarily with friends and then opening up the LFM to people they recognize or have been told about.

Yup, that would have been an idea to recall and reform so the offending person lost out completely, but what if you don't know who that offender was.

Just best not to pug anymore if it matters... sad, but true.

As someone who runs a shroud or 2 almost every night I have to say I have not seen this happen one time yet. often I wind up with many random puggers in the groups as well.

Worst thing I've seen lately is someone who was Waiting for a ride but neglected to tell anyone.. We started without him. He then tried to make the run and get in.. Of course, he didnt make it... So he recalled out, then zoned back in so we all lost the 10% no re-entry bonus.....

Wasnt one of the runs I was leading.....

I absolutely understand where you are coming from. but fair question: how are you going to find the players out there, that are "you 2-3 years ago" if you only party with those you know already?

@ Alter: that sure sucks. I would be annoyed and frustrated but not quite sure how you can figure out who to blacklist there.
also, you can't know what made the idiot do what he/she did. for example, it could be that they didn't get a large in 4, could be that the leetzor doesn't want to wait for the n00bs to shrine and loot bc his zerging time is more valuable...... , could be a series of things really -.-

No disrespect intended, but read back what I stated.

I do pug, and I pug a fair bit, but only on quests that I really don't care as much about. If it's a TOD or something like that, I stick primarily with friends. Doesn't have to be exclusive, but mostly friends and / or vets.

Honestly, when I first started I wasn't as bad as a number of the people I'm seeing over this past while, due to the fact that I ask questions, learn and ensure I'm taking care of myself and others and pulling my weight.

What we are seeing from these new players at the level 15+ range is actually rediculous. By the time I got to that level I knew that carrying potions was a forgone conclusion and be courteous to others and listening to the leader of the group was a basic minimum and if I didn't know something I would make sure I asked and was relatively decent and polite about it.

The people I'm seeing too much of are lacking all or most of what I stated in the above.

So I and other vets take calculated risks on newer players and help out a little here and there, but I recommend the newer players actually do a little work on their own to learn the game, rather than mostly ride people with experience. A lot of the vets are happy to spend time to help newer players, myself included, but there should be a minimum expectation from us that they could at least go online and do some homework on the game... yes/no?
