    Lightbulb alternatives to the lute

bards should hava an alternative to the little lute they have.

this idea started with me when this guy said this

I got another idea! when you use fascinate instead of playing a song you do a mime performance. the enemies wont be fascinated they will be dumbstruck with confusion!

i should start a thread just for these ideas.
what else would you want to see the bard do?

    I know! Breakdancing!

    And then I said...

AC2 had a really fun music/instrument setup. I'd still like to see another game adopt it.

I know there's this weird "anything Scottish is seksy" thing that goes on with D&D players, but...

...bagpipes are only slightly less annoying than sackbuts and kazoos.

    oh yeah, I said it.

Why can't my perform skill relate to dance, I want to be an interpretive dance bard! Or could I get like a trumpet maybe? Gong, even?

Bagpipes should give +20 competence bonus to intimidate.
This music urges everyone to KILL the bard!

and drums. it would be awesome if war-chanters could use drums. that would so fit.

In PnP, I played a bard/fighter once that specialized in Battle Poetry. Nothing's better than an Enlarged bard charging into battle with a greatsword while shouting poems
Freeman - Human Bard - Thelanis Fulfilling my duty to the ladies of Stormreach
Yuvben(Halfling Rogue), Acana(Drow Sorcerer), Walket(Human Cleric), Mahoukami (WF Wizard), Knicapper(Horc Fighter), Pyetr(Human Bard), Mazinger (WF Barb), and Belcar(Halfling Ranger).

My two ideas have always been:

Do what they do in LOTRO and allow for different instruments and sounds.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4QMtvk4ihg
(Turbine already knows how to do this ^^^ )

    or

At least make the Perform feat do something worthwhile and allow for leveling up
of songs/instruments. Maybe I start out with a loot that has the same basic songs when my Perform
is under 10, but a Virtuoso with 20 Perform should probably have a different instrument/tune to bring to the party.

I know it is fluff, but it is MY FLUFF.

    Default i got an idea!

i have an idea for a dance performance.

    dance of the ballerina.

the results depend on the race/gender of your character.

if your female it might be a moral boost for the party or maybe it would act like fascinate.

if your a dwarf or warforged everyone, enemies and allies, must make a will save or be incapacitated due to uncontrollable laughter. if you get an epic fail on this will check you die of laughter. or maybe it could just dumbfound them with confusion.

    Default Presenting, Bailey the Bard...

There's a few things I'd like my Bards to be able stock in their performance arsenal...

    Now... just imagine...

In the midst of battle Bailey the Bard steps back, delves into his backpack and withdraws his triangle! A resonant "ting" echoes throughout the bloodsoaked cavern and all the ferocious kobolds begin to ravenously feast upon each other! What a hero Bailey has turned out to be...

In the midst of battle Bailey the Bard steps back, delves into his backpack and withdraws his largerphone! The rhythmic shake and rattle of Bailey's rhythm echoes throughout the bloodsoaked cavern and all the ferocious bugbears start to sway to and fro, getting down! What a hero Bailey has turned out to be...

In the midst of battle Bailey the Bard steps back, delves into his backpack and withdraws a Hammond Organ! The driving riff from Smoke on the Water echoes throughout the bloodsoaked cavern and all the ferocious devils start burning each other in firey blasts of demonic energy! What a hero Bailey has turned out to be...

In the midst of battle Bailey the Bard steps back, delves into his backpack and withdraws his Piano Accordian! The evil halfling henchmen of the Sharn Syndicate suddenly start a frantic polka around the the bloodsoaked strongroom! What a hero Bailey has turned out to be...

In the midst of battle Bailey the Bard steps back, delves into his backpack and withdraws his harmonica! The hardened ogre henchmen break down into sobs, unable to control themselves from turning into blubbering wrecks as Homesick Blues echoes throughout the bloodsoaked cavern! What a hero Bailey has turned out to be...

In the midst of battle Bailey the Bard steps back, delves into his backpack and withdraws his banjo! The vile outlaws suddenly deveolve into a group of slavering inbred morons, and begin unimaginable acts upon each other to the bewilderment of the startled party! What a hero Bailey has turned out to be...

In the midst of battle Bailey the Bard steps back, delves into his backpack and withdraws his didjeridoo! The evil vampires shudder as Baileys haunting tones drive them into beating their heads upon the nearest wall. What a hero Bailey has turned out to be...

Lyre or Harp would be nice - as shown in the bard class symbol.

I'd like my bardbarian to have a Juice Harp, a washboard, or a Jug.

I'd kinda like for a barbarian/warchanter's roar on entering rage to be replaced with the yell from the start of Immigrant Song by Led Zepellin
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.
