    Default can i keep up?

    ok i am tryin a 12 ranger / 6 monk / 2 rogue.........a speed freak i hope.....

i dont have the xtra points to put into intelligence with only a 32 point build. I have never run a rogue before....will i ever be able to keep up with my lvl quests when it comes to traps? I mean with skill boost and lvl appropriate gear. I took my first rogue lvl at 1st but when should i take the 2nd for the best effect? thx in advance.

To be really speedy you'd need barb1 and rog6.

With 32 points you should be able to get intelligence. What, are you putting it into wisdom, dexterity, and charisma?

Both ranger and monk levels provide a lot of skillpoints, and ranger can get Search at 1:1.

you should be fine - i'd say either take the 2nd rogue level early if you want evasion ASAP, or close to the end to help top-up skills if needed. If you're taking spot too, you'll need 6 skillpoints every level-up to keep spot, search, disable device & open lock maxed (and with an decent +skill item you can get away with skipping OL a little as there's unlimited retries on OL checks so long as you have the tools), iirc thats exactly how much rangers get before INT modifier is taken into account
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.

noob quesion...why wouls i put points in Charisma? here are my starting stats.....didnt want trap working to be his main focus or draw any power from his fighting.....i am taking the rogue lvls mainly for haste boost and the ability to open locks(which if i remember correctly uses Dex) Umd looked nice too. we will see what i can pull off i suppose.

    str.13(had a tome layin around)
    int 10
    dex18
    wis16
    con12
    chr8

have i failed already? lol i am already to 5th lvl with this guy he's tons of fun. lvl progression so far...rogue/monk/monk/monk/ranger----planned continuation is as follows----ranger/ranger/ranger/ranger/ranger/rogue/monk/monk/ranger/ranger/monk/ranger/ranger/ranger/ranger

confusing i know but what do you guys think bout all this

Oh wow i really mustnt have been awake earlier when reading the build..

the problem with the build is that you wont get tempest benefits applied if you're using handwraps - therefore the only weapon you'll be able to use to gain benefts from both wind stance AND tempest will be kamas, and your DPS later will lag behind quite badly (you'll have to rely on status effects, vorpals etc & they can be expensive on kamas), but that can be mitigated to some extent through power attack & improved critical, and your feats will be spread a little thin with the tempest requirements as it is.

Depending on your race, it might be beneficial to drop either dex or wis by 1 or 2 points at the start and put INT up to 12/14, to make sure you've got the points for all the skills you want since a few of them will be cross-class most of the time (forgot to take UMD into account.. very silly of me)

hmmmmm thanks again now i have to make up my mind on a lot of things....i had already planned to use kamas......i'm gonna have to depend on my large number of hits to make up the damage i guess. or use vorps/smiters/banishers or perhaps i will start looking for greater bane weapons...hmmmmmm honestly i am making this guy to team up with 2 of my friends....a cleric and a fighter. I am hoping with this build almost all bases will be covered.the only thing i wont be able to deal with is int and chr runes we will see how well it goes

thx guys for the inputs and i will be checkin this thread again a few times so feel free to add anything else that might help.
