Dragonscales in Mired in Kobolds?

I've heard they drop, but frankly, I'm not sure I believe it, unless I'm doing something wrong.

Ran it today about 7 times. 1 time with a party on elite (for the favor) and 6 more times solo (plus a hireling). 5 on normal and 1 time on hard. Do black dragonscales actually drop? Anything you HAVE to do, i.e., rescue the prisoner? I usually skip it, but I haven't even seen one drop yet. Was hoping I could farm that for black scales, instead of doing Tor 100000 times.

Having pulled one myself, yes I can substantiate that they do drop. I don't know how rare as it was only my 3rd run ever, and I haven't ran it since. I think it may have been on hard, but I don't remember for sure. But I *HAVE* pulled one.

Well at least they drop then...I've hear the drop rate is extremely lower than that of Tor.

I love Tor...probably my favorite quest in the game, but it's just so long and you're obviously not always guaranteed a scale. Wanted to farm them a bit faster.

I know the dragonscale isn't the "best" armor in the game, but I've always been a fan of it and what it looks like on the lower lvl ranged toons in the game. That, and I'm definitely collecting red scales to upgrade a set (if I ever pull all 20 )

I pulled a black scale from one of Sinvala's chests on hard, my second time running the quest.
I only did it three times, n-h-e, so can't say how common they are.

Dragonscale may not be the best possible for some builds, but it is definitely worth getting for others. I have 2 of my chars with DS items, one with the white docent and another with the blue robe. I am greatly looking forward to epic Tor to see what I can upgrade that robe into...

(Not to mention I want epic Dreamspitter, epic HoGF, and epic Napkin...)

Needless to say GH Epic here I come..
