to be honest id rather have turbine work on a new raid then have them wasting time making these stupid kiddie games like ice skating and hunting for eggs seriously what the hell.

Yup. I'm not sure why Turbine keeps releasing these little nonsense events. I think its to distract us as long as possible.

Two things:
First, I highly doubt that raids and festival games are mutually exclusive. Just because they are releasing these games doesn't mean all work on raids came to a grinding halt. Raids are exponentially more complex than these games so I would think there are different groups working on each thing.
Second, the games are wildly popular for many people. They are OPTIONAL for the rest. The "stupid kiddie games like ice skating" are allowing people to add a nice damage boost to their favorite random weapons. The "frost kits" are going for 1.2 million gold on Ghallanda. Win.
Do you even relize how relaxing its to stop the questing for a while play some music get a coffe and slide ? : -)
Not everyone want to raid all day long.
That's true. As long as it makes some people happy it's worth the DEV effort.

i'm sure some mid range programmer works on these.. probably doesn't take that long.
also, do you notice how many people actually do them?
hehe just a though..
The sun still rises tomorrow, you're still paying turbine even though you gripe..
wootage for neg rep, i'm sure.. big whoop
What this guy said ^^ and...as much as I would LOVE to see a new raid..i do realize that the game isnt all about me/us (people who enjoy end content).
And before people reply about all the things that arent fixed over the last 4 years..blah blah. Yes I am aware of all those....trust me..I know.
i just asked if anyone felt this way i didnt say it i was right or anything like that i get some kick ass neg rep which would never bother me anyway and a couple of people trying to tell me how i feel is wrong i never said hey everyone think the way i do i just asked if anyone else felt this way
I'm sure there are raids in the works. I'd prefer they are kept to once or twice a year, though - to make sure they are worthy of the term "raid" and not just large-scale, one room beat downs with glorified loot tables. I like the steady diet of smaller updates, some of which are bound to be more fluff-oriented then others.
We're only three updates into the new way of putting out content. I say give em a few more, after which if there is no new raid it's time to complain.![]()
You're conflating two different things here - the games and the rewards. This type of reward is good. It is vastly superior to the way the current crafting system works. If they had a recipe to add all possible prefixes and suffixes as well as increase the plus bonus, it would be as close to a good crafting system as I expect them to ever get.
But making the only means of accessing this better system be silly games is lame. The recipes would be amazing if they were quest/chest/raid rewards. Don't confuse the effort people are willing to go to in order to get better loot with the games actually being enjoyable on their own merits.
Maybe not a big room raid but a big battle field raid. 12 vs and army of things coming at you taxing your resources
and tactics to protect the healers and casters. No hiding, no cheap tactics, chaos all around.
As far as the games go, good for many, nice work done on them and I really like the enhancements
done on the graphics and looks of things all over.
Fun for a little while then I move on, and they are optional.
To me, whilst I think the games are a bit silly, it does allow the dev team to introduce new gameplay mechanics into the game before they release those quests that end up using those very same mechanics.
It increases the arsenal of features that are available to a quest creator. People just need to look at some of the original made quests compared to the quests that get made now to see the drastic difference of various gameplay mechanics that are employed now. Blow holes, various types of traps, textures, etc.
The next thing I hope to see is more dynamic quests, the second time you go into it could have a different layout, different puzzles, different traps and their locations, etc. Because as it is now it is too easy to complete a quest if you know how it all works. Building up a new character when you already have several at 20th level would be more fun and interesting.

I would like to officially retract calling egg hunting "nonsense", I just spent an hour running around the marketplace, and had a blast!
