Default Help with a splash question.

I have recently returned to the game after being gone for years.
I have a cleric that was created years ago when warpriest were a popular build.
He is currently 14 cleric 1 Paladin. With reincarnation now possible was wondering what to do with his outdated build.
    --
Some have suggested that I respect him and replace paladin with monk.. so...
    ..
    Respect at current level
    Options.. Pure Cleric?
Option 1. If I made him pure cleric and remove the level of Paladin, what would I loose?
    ...
Option 2. If I removed the level of Paladin and replaced it with a level of monk. What would I loose and what would I gain? Should I go 2 levels or Monk?
Something about being able to add my Wisdom modifier to my AC?
    ..
Option 3. Keep the level or Paladin and/or add another level of Paladin?
    ..
Option 4.. Wait until 20 true respect..
    ...

So I guess I am curious about the pros and cons of
    20 cleric vs
    18 cleric/2 paladin vs
    18 cleric/2 monk vs
16 cleric 2 pal 2 monk? or other combination..

    Thanks for your expertise.

what are you trying to achieve with your char?
i know you said it was a warpriest years ago but things have changed and so maybe your intention for the char
going cleric18/monk2 is a very nice build though you need lots of items to make the ac and evasion work. also your weapons will be limited.
the cleric19/fighter1 version is nice as battlecleric too as you get access to all martial weapons

Well I mainly run in a guild group that has two clerics already so I am normally on my bard or sorcerer.. I will probably just play this character when needed so his equipment is not going to be stellar.. I have the ability to fight and heal but know my role. My static group has some heavy hitters so melee if really not required. So melee or casting in the group is really extra..

Sounds like you want healing / cc / offensive casting, which suggests a vanilla pure cleric - not that your 1-level paladin splash will be so awful - if you do reincarnate, try one from Cleric Build Catalogue 2010 and you should be golden.

Thanks for the feedback - I updated my sig so you can see Vestri's stats and info.
I also have a level 11 pure cleric caster.

Question - Can a cleric be a valid off tank or non-squishy melee in non-raid content as pure cleric, or Paladin or Monk Splashes since update 3...

If you do decide to splash monk you definitely want to go with two levels of it to get evasion. I have an 18 FVS 2 monk splash and evasion has been a lifesaver so many times. Monk splash tends to be more frequently used on characters that are more melee centric (which my FVS is for soloing anyway). If you are wanting to go more healer/caster than healer/melee I'd probably stay pure.

    Default Healing/Melee

With this character I would like to be more healing/melee centered than healing/casting..

So what are the advantages of 18 cleric/2 monk vs 18 cleric / 2 paladin?

Honestly I don't know much about paladin splash, but monk splash will give you your wisdom bonus to AC as long as you are wearing robes or outfits and will give you evasion which has saved me more than a few times. You also will get two monk class feats which can be used for more melee centric feats that you might not have room for otherwise such as power attack.

    Default Otoh...

I don't know a **** thing about monks, but I do play a paladin - the benefit of that is saves, (though most cleric paladin splash have a Cha is too low to really help much), Aura of good, lay of hands.

Both fighter and paladin get you the martial weapons, and possibly a racial exotic (Dwarven axe, mostly).

Fighter gets you tower shield, and an extra (fighter) feat. Plus, you don't have to be LG.

My cleric with a 1 fighter dip does most of the tanking for our guild's stuff (I'm the only plate wearer) , and I don't see why a pure cleric couldn't. Nice thing is - if the tank dies, he knows who to blame (yay!) - but it's himself (boo!)

Question: Until I can reincarnate - Next level (16) should I choose cleric or paladin..

    ie.. 14 cleric / 2 Paladin or 15 cleric / 1 Paladin ?

What would be the benefits or downfalls..

    Thanks
