    Default Please Review My Warchanter

    I've done a lot of reading up on building a Warchanter, so I think I'm ready for feedback. Any opinions and suggestions are appreciated.

    To be honest, I'm really needing help with what enhancements to choose.

    I'm kind of new at this as well.

    Why empowering healing? Doesn't maximize do more +healing?
    Why 18 bard? 15 for the 2nd best inspire courage, 16 for mass cure mod.

    Empower Healing is 10 more spellpoints for 50% more healing, whereas Maximize is 25 more spellpoints for 100% more healing; hence, Empower Healing is often cheaper. OTOH, Maximize would also affect more spells, not only healing ones, but the only "blasting" spell bards have is Greater Shout.

    Looks good.

    I wouldn't spend enhancements on non-combat stuff like charisma - but that's just me

    I personally would start with cha 8 and dex 15 (+2 tome), but your stats are fine/good.

    looks good to me, only think i would change is less points into jump (skill maxes at 40, +30 comes on a belt or from arcane + gh + str modifier and its maxed) and up your intimidate. if you end up with multiple concordiant opps + hound shield/madstone you can easly be orthon tank in vod (also works in other areas) and charge your batteries up.

    With 14 base cha at end you're not going to use many spells that need spell pen, and just one spell pen enhancement is not going to cut it either. Your role will be buffs, buffs, songs, and more buffs, with some healing if you have spell points left.

    Lyric of song isn't that great, get wand and scroll mastery so you can be more effective healing from scrolls.

    Eat a +1 cha tome as well and save the AP from bard cha III for something more valuable to your build.

    looks like a solid melee warchanter to me.

    personally i'd go maximize instead of empower healing. the warchanter set gives -4 sp cost on maximize and it works great with greater shout aswell

    I roll with a 18 bard/2 fighter as well so these are my suggestions.

    Should put all your level up points into STR

    For enhancements, you'll want to fit in fighter strength 1 and fighter haste boost 1 (it stacks with spell haste). Could drop the lyric of song and spell penetration enhancements, as well as inspired bravery 3 (don't see much point in more fear save when you're packing greater heroism)

    Not yet, but it really can be only a matter of time. Every other PrE has 3 tiers. OTOH there is a good chance that when bards do get their PrE tiers they will be nerfed. It would be pretty tough to improve upon warchanter without over powering.

    To the OP, looks like a pretty good build, battle bards are a blast. IMO elves make better battle bards than human, because of the scimmy enhancements. /shrug. It's just a matter of preferance. Someone else may prefer barforged (dwarf). Run what you want to run.

    And as someone else already mentioned put all level ups into strength. Personally I would start with 14 dex, and hope, pray, beg, borrow, whatever I had to do to get tomes.

    i'm looking for the carac of you're warchanter, i think it's a little poor.
    I have a spellsinger lvl18 with 34 in charisme and all charac ar better than 10.
    and i have 1200 mana point and 250hp

    I would move skill points from concentration into intimidate. In the end-game you won't be able to reliably cast spells while being damage anyways.


    Consider dropping Emp Healing for Maximize. Don't worry, you won't overheal.

    Look like a fine build I would be glad to have with me in any party I'm with.

    Don't know about the BAB requirements, you might move Toughness to lvl 6-9 as the HP benefit at start isn't that great, the attack bonus more useful, possibly. But here we are all talking about the frosting on the build.

    As there is no PRE III enhancement, it might be feasible to take another 3 lvl of something else (as 15 is the last courage increase), possibly also 3. (depends on if you miss any of the lvl 6 spells) But when TP brings out PRE III you'd need to buy a +3 hearth :/
