Default Average BB damage on a pure melee Fvs

I'm planning my 36pt TR for my cleric and I am seriously considering an elf twf fvs. Wisdom is going to be a dump stat in this build because his primary focus will be epics/end game raiding in which on my 34pt Cleric I've found that high spell dc's mean nothing and melee wins out for divine casters. I've heard in the past 2 answers on how blade barrier works; 1 is that it doesn't actually use a dc and a mob only has to succeed a reflex save to overcome bb and the other is that bb uses a dc that a mob can save against but even if it saves it still takes half damage. Which is true? There is a lot of misinformation in the forums.

I'm trying to find someone who has a cap'd melee fvs with little to no wisdom that can tell me what his experiences with bb are. What is your average damage (noncrit) that your bb's do to the average mob (a mob that usually gets hit). How often do your bb's fail to hit the average mob?

Blade Barriers do have a DC, the higher your Wisdom, the higher the Reflex save will be associated with your Blade Barriers.

As far as damage, I can't speak for melee FvS but my OC specced FvS gets in the 200-300 range non crit and 500-600 crit.

Assuming Maximize Spell, no Empower Spell (melee builds generally do better with Empower Healing because it works on Heal and Mass Heal), and no spell crit item, you'll deal 230 damage average on a failed save (rarely) and 115 on a successful save (frequently). Average around 130.

A caster build (Maximize, Empower Spell) will deal 285 or 142, with about equal frequency on Epics. Call that an average of 210.

Of course, neither is particularly useful in Epics, as 210 damage and 130 damage both barely tickle a mob even if you hit it six times with the BB, and few groups are patient enough to wait while you kill a mob with your BB kiting's ~100-200 DPS.
    I don't have a zerging problem.

    I'm zerging. That's YOUR problem.

A melee FvS with wisdom as a dump stat will essentially be doing minimum damage (no metamagics) against monsters that always save.

As a result, expect your BB to hit for around 50-75 points.

Compared to a superior potencied, maximized, empowered, critical BB against a monster that doesn't save, which typically will do around 525-575 points.

Thank you for the numbers. I will definately consider them in my build. Im going pure 36pt fvs with max melee potential while remaining as good at healing as my current cleric (I can reuse everything my current cleric has anyway). I noticed that even with a 34 wisdom on my cleric I really can't use anything other than BB in amrath solo's and in epics I either melee or just stay out of the way. I love to melee at every opprotunity and I also like to solo heal raids as I can't count on other healers to be able to do their job. I figure a dual scimitar fvs would be a good marriage of playstyles for me. I suppose worst case scenario I can learn to live without BB entirely...
