    Default Question About Barb Equipment

I'm a level 7 barb currently with the THF build and I'm wondering what is better to use as a weapon +5 Weapons or currenlty I'm using +1 True Chaos Great Axe of Pure Good. I'm not really understanding what the +5 really is

The first part (+5) of a weapon is a bonus added to hit and damage.
So a +5 Greataxe adds +5 to your d20 roll to hit, and adds +5 to any damage determined.

The True Chaos adds 1d6 damage to non chaotic opponents, and the good adds 1d6 damage to any non-good opponent. The +1 on the Greataxe adds +1 to hit and +1 to damage.

So basically of you're fighting anything that is non chaotic and non good, you might want to use the greataxe.
For anything else, the +5 Weapon would likely be better.
Also if you find you're having trouble hitting, the +5 GA is better.

~ Of course there's always DR on various Mobs to consider, on most at your level it won't matter.
But the Chaos is nice to have if you're ever running Von 3.

The +5 enhancement bonus on a weapon gives it +5 to hit and +5 damage per swing.

+1 True Chaos of Pure Good would give you +1 to hit and on average +8 damage per swing against Lawful Evil opponents.

If they are not lawful or evil, then the damage per swing on the +1 goes way down. Also, don't overlook the bonus to hit because if you aren't connecting or confirming your crits, your dps drops significantly.
