    Default Exalted smite

    Hello

I was looking at my enhancements list, and saw Exalted smite.

If I'm right, the only difference between Exalted smite and "normal" smite is the bonus to critical multiplier (means it's not worth anything) ?

First ehancement adds +1 to multiplier
Second adds +1 to threat range
Third adds another +1 to multiplier (+2 total)
Last one adds another +1 to threat range (+2 total)

Meaning if u use smite on a
khopesh with imp crit feat, you'll crit smite on a :15-20 for x5 dmg, which will do upwards of 500+ dmg each crit~
    Falchion: 13-20 x4 dmg
    Epic SoS: 13-20 x6 dmg 1000~

Thus this enhancment line is actually worth alot.

    What he said!

This enhancement line is well worth the AP's and can lead to some awesome damage numbers .

basically, what the posters before me said is absolutely correct, just mentioning some background info, that might help you chose which enhancements to take:
exalted smite, while providing awesome spike damage is limited to the use of smites your paladin has per rest. once those run out, they will recharge at a 90seconds/charge pace, which is not necessarilly considered fast.
with paladins being relatively tight on APs you should also consider not sacrificing much of your divine sacrifice line of enhancements in favor of exalted smites. these are only limited by your health and mana pool, you can spam them every few seconds as long as you have spell points and health. the damage numbers resulting are definitely not as impressive but they do provide a steady source of respectable extra damage. in a longer fight, the added damage will probably outshine the spikes coming from exalted smite. in a shorter fight, the balance usually tips in favor or the exalted.

if you can fit both in of course, without sacrificing other very important enhancements have fun with both of them and enjoy your dps role
