Default Experienced D&D and MMO Player LF Semi-Hardcore guild

    Hello all,

I began playing D&D with my older siblings back in 1980, running such early modules as "The Village of Hommlet," "Expedition to Barrier Peaks" (remember how cool it was to come across the alien spaceship?--and then die trying on a set of the alien armor >.<), and the "Slave Lords" series.

From 1997 until last October, I played EQ1 and EQ2 in the hardest of hardcore guilds (raiding 5+ nights/week, mandatory 90% attendance rate, cutthroat guild politics, and all of that other fun stuff).

The idea of an MMO based around the actual D&D ruleset (and not a crude approximation) appealed to me, so last fall I thought I'd give DDO a shot, and have had a lot of fun since then.

I leveled a drow ranger to about 14 before realizing that I'd made some pretty major mistakes in building my character. No big deal; I've re-rolled plenty of times in my life and consider half of the fun in gaming to be having something to shoot for.

Now I am playing a human TWF Khopesh ranger with a rogue/monk splash and have made it to level 17. I've managed to complete most of the flagging quests either solo+hireling or with PUG's, but am now looking for a more steady group of adventurers with whom to consistently group.

I say semi-hardcore in the title of this thread because I am not looking to be in another guild with a call list for contested spawns or the threat of losing looting privileges because I may have to actually take a night off occasionally to hang out with my wife and four year-old daughter.

While I am online, however, I am all business when it comes to getting things done, and my past experiences make me a min/maxer, whether I want to be or not. (I sort of enjoy doing the mental grunt-work necessary to truly optimize a character.)

What I am looking for now is a group of mature, like-minded individuals with whom to share adventures and good times on a fairly regular basis (at least 3-4 dungeon crawls or raids/week.)

If anyone can point me in the right direction of a guild that may meet my needs, please either reply to this post or shoot me a PM. My character's name is Kasio and I am on most evenings throughout the week and at least one night/weekend.

P.S. My DDO.com profile is still showing my original drow ranger who has since been deleted. To give you an idea of my stats/feats: STR (30), DEX (26), CON (20), INT (16), WIS (22). My self-buffed AC is 50 w/barksin (and 55 with CE). I dual wield +5 and +3 metalline khopeshes, as well as +2 and +3 vorpal khopeshes of PG. I'm wearing Jorgundal's collar, a white dragonscale cloak, and a couple of other nice items. Also, I'm a VIP subscriber.

My only real non-PD toon is Nicomo of Khyber. If interested, look him up on Myddo.com. It's just to show you that, if I could only make one character for the rest of my DDO days, it would be an elf tempest ranger. He has everything but greensteel, which I will not stoop to employ.

If you're interested in dungeon-crawling on a regular basis (3-4 nights a week is fine), why not check out The Core HC Permadeath Guild on Khyber? You'll never be in a situation where we are all racing ahead and obsessing about kill counts because we want our twinked out builds to really shine. No rinse and repeat questing here.

My current projects in The Core include Twin bards: Mosashae and Mosashai. Silver-haired spies with silver tongues who can buff and heal party members, control mobs, and slice their stupified forms into steak. They are a few weeks old and already about to become virtuosos.

At the lower levels, I have an elf cleric/rogue, a halfling monk/rogue (with healing dragonmarks), and another elf monk/rogue (with a bad attitude).

The past few nights I have been duo'ing stuff with a new recruit, Chadeaux, so the company would be much appreciated.

Check out the website at: thecorehc.home.comcast.net

    cheers,

    Movan
