Default To all you Monk masters out there.

I have looked over forum posts etc and cant find exactly what im after and I would like to do this character right so thought I would ask instead of blindly going ahead and making a mess

    Race - Halfling
Class - Monk 32 point build (I dont mind true or multi-classed).
Intentions - Solo / self sufficient playing from Solo to Elite (skill / feat / enhancement based self healing if possible).
Wants - Dragonmark of Healing (I want to use this in the build.)

This will only be my second character made so I dont have the luxury of twinking this guy out, so his solo / self sufficient needs to come from skills / enhancements / feats and equipment that easy enough to come by and dont cost the earth

This is a bit of a role playing character modelled on an old PnP D&D character I had way back when.

    Thanks in advance.

Assuming you have +1 tomes available:
    Str 14+lvls Dex 16 Con 14 Int 12 Wis 14 Cha 8
Feats: TWF line, Dragonmark line, CE, PA, Toughness, Imp Crit Blunt.
    sravana, kirtana, smarana, dasya, atma-nivedana
    ...NAMASTE...

I capped my main using the RockinRobin build. While it doesn't use the dragonmarks, you can probably adjust it to suit your needs. So you know, I don't have the healing dragonmarks and I can solo quite a bit with this monk. The stuff I can't do, I am not sure the dragonmarks would matter. Regardless, I love playing my monk and I bet you will enjoy yours too. Good luck with your build.

Samadhi, thanks for your input but I dont have access to +1 tomes at this moment in time.
Does it really require them ?

P.S. Full Character Builds are welcomed (ie posted from Characer builder)

I got this one for the forums,

    Halfling monk (32 pt)

    str 14
    dex 16 ( +1 tome )
    con 14
    int 8
    wis 16 (level points here)
    cha 8

    Feats:

    1 - dragonmark
    1 - stunning fist
    2 - weapon finesse
3 - toughness (swap out for twf at level 9)*
    6 - dragonmark
    6 - power attack
    9 - itwf
    12 - dragonmark
    15 - gtwf
    18 - toughness

*You have to suffer levels 9 and 10 without a toughness feat until you can wear the minos at 11. When mod 9 hits you will not have toughness for level 17 due to the minos fix.

    Skills:

    concentration - 19 ranks
    balance - 19 ranks
    jump - 18 ranks
    tumble - 1 rank

The rest of this build reflects the gear and tomes I have acquired.

    So sad but true.

Thanks so far for the information.

Anyone else got any pearls of wisdom to share?

    P.S.
Rezo I couldnt quite get that build to come right in the character generator.
Seems to be missing some enhancements?
Could not get enough progression to get the other enchancements you mentioned to become available.

My first monk was with dragonmark of healing. Now I TR'ed and new monk is totally without dragonmark, they are totally a waste without empower/maximize.

BTW, this is a build similar to my first monk

r3dl4nce thanks for the build, seems to be what I was looking for.

Regarding the enhancements, does it matter what I take at which level (only it shows all taken at level 20)
I know some rely on having the correct progression etc. before you can take them, but say if I take Halfling Guile 1 before Halfling Cunning 1, will it make any differance?

As I remember, you have to take one before the other. I can't remember which is first though.

If I am remembering right level II of guile wasn't available until after I took level II of cunning, or vice versa. I could be mistaken, but I think that is how it happened.

I wouldn't bother with the dragonmarks, I have 2 halfling monks both lvl20 never even thought about taking them, never really need them. Soloing you'll always have time to stop and use wholeness of body to get back your full hitpoints and just be sure to have a few pots on you.
14 16 14 8 16 8 is the right starting point (the most efficient use of build points). It's a tough call as to where to put your level ups, I would probably go with dex for reflex save, rather than wis for DC of stunning fist/QP. Reflex will be more useful for evading trap damage as you solo, you SF and QP should still be ok. Maybe go 4 level ups in Dex to get to 16+4Lvl+2enhancement+6item=28 and wis 16+3enh+1level+6item=26 pretty good actually and forget about +1 tomes and wait till the +2s drop for you.

make sure to take grand master of storms, at least adept of water (for unbalancing strike), max out halfling cunning and guile, take weapons finesse, power attack, and all the two weapon fighting feats and you have a great basic build. oh and all your skill points into concentration and balance, maybe some into move silently (but max concentration) T
