Hotbar tooltips for inventory breaking?

Anyone else had this issue, or have a fix for it? Every so often, the hotbar tooltips will stop appearing, but only for equipment (weapons, scrolls, ect). They will still show up for feats/enhancements/skills, as well as items in the inventory screen itself. Once it breaks, can't find a way to fix it other then logging out and back in.

The tool tips for items will appear for me, but only for a fraction of a second (rather than sticking until I mouse away). Doesn't happen all the time, but once it starts log out/in in the only way to fix it.

For the issue where hotbar tooltips stop showing up entirely, I have always managed to get them back by hovering over an item in my inventory. After that item tooltip shows up, hotbar tooltips will start showing up again.

For the issue where tooltips of all kinds appear for a mere millisecond and then disappear again, I have found that I can stop that happening by doing the following in order:
1. Open a bag (eg. collectibles, gem, ingredients)
2. Open your inventory window
3. Click back to the opened bag gump to bring it to the front again
4. Mouse over an item inside the bag you opened (these tooltips never disappear for me, ever)
That seems to fix the problem for me. I'm not sure if there's a method with less steps to it.



It's really sloppy though, every time either of these bugs hit me I sigh and wish that DDO had a better default UI (and allowed modding).

To fix this problem open your inventory, and click on an item so it appears in the focus orb. Now click on the magnifying glass icon on the focus orb. That will reset the tool tips back to normal.

Have only been playing a few days but this disappearing tooltip bug was driving me nuts!

Not exactly the same issue, but from the subject line I thought it might be so it might be relevant to some people:

It seems also that if your item is in front of some actionable object it can also cause the tooltip to time-out too fast. Too fast to read, for sure.

If that's the case, just make your character look somewhere else.
