Yes this is more Diablo paced the DnD paced. It's an argument with no conclusion. Seems like there could have been two different play-style servers, one that has walk with short burst run vs run! That said, ain't happening, would have been interesting to see what would be more popular as many have left DnD because of it's fast pace, but then again many are pleasantly surprised and like the fast pace. What also would have been interesting would be that I like both and could see playing both depending on mood, aka I stay around longer. Oh well.

If you want to be able to join any random pug you'd like, then you'll have to learn to be adaptable to different playstyles. Making demands on groups that you did not set up is never a good idea. You can suggest how you'd like to play, and they may or may not agree, but don't get mad at them if they don't. As others have said, if going slow is paramount to you, then set up your own lfms, join ones that say they are going slow, or find out what the group plan is before you start the quest, and drop if it's not to your liking.

Minimize expectations and you'll never be disappointed

I've had plenty of times where I thought I knew a quest well, joined a PUG and was left behind by vets that knew it really well, rather than be bummed I realized that they probably don't need my help so I simply tried to keep up rather than fight and watch what they were doing to try and learn some tips for the quest. When they stopped to fight I would help out. Learned lots that way.

If you want to go slow try to find a guild or some friends that also like to dungeon crawl, they are out there.

    Oh, ok.

    Do what now?

I like to go relatively slow the first couple of times on an adventure, but if it's a new toon I'll race through the low level stuff for favour as quick as possible. After a while, the only low level quests I like to run are the ones with high exp/loot to time ratio as the 'fun' stuff now has moved to the new areas I haven't fully explored yet.

Worst adventure I ran was one where I didn't know the adventure & joined a group as it was tough to solo. Just chased after them as the raced through & had no idea what was going on. No one to blame though as I didn't ask how they wanted to run it & never mentioned it was my first time.

I have a friend who I occasionally group with who likes to rush a bit. It's quite amusing to me when I point out things he has missed like secret areas, chests, etc. Generally though we work quite well together & now know how to compliment each others style.

I would suggest to keep on the lookout for players who's style matches my own & put them on your friends list. Other than that, I've seen guilds out there who emphasize RP over zerging - look them up, I'm sure you can find a group that echoes your sentiments though they may not be the majority.

I like to enjoy the quests.
Thats mostly cause I'm playing this for the first time, I suppose when I see everything theres to see, maybe I'll have to explore whats to see on char building... and then, perharps I'm gonna zerg everything.

I don't find many people to play when I'm on, the ones I find zerg, so... I'm playing this 1st time solo.. or with another char and my wife. Sometimes with the rest of the guild, or a friend who is not in the mood to zerg, rofl

btw.. loved casual difficulty. Now I can know the quests.. then see how far can I get by myself then join parties ^^
