    Default wizard satisfaction

One of the most satisfying things as a wizard is to cast Firewall, get aggroed and die while hopping around inside of it (bear with me here....) and then watch from your deathly haze state as the lingering mobs (who killed you!) slowly burn up and die, one by one. Snap crackle pop mofos.

I find it more satisfying to not die and just watch them die.

    Yes, this.

Or, at the very least, having your WF wiz get incapped and watching them all die.. only to pop up and repair yourself from your safely cleared vantage point.

    Sigh.

Okay point well-taken. Sometimes the worst happens, though, and when it does, revenge is sweet-sweet satisfaction, just sayin'

anyway, let me share you some tips:

    • FW + Wave of Exhaustion + Acid Fog = the mobs move slower than turtle (btw, they have fixed AF)
    • FW + Web , this require some skills, works well against mummy and skeleton (if for any reason you don't use halt undead)
    • FW + Glitterdust, similar to web, but Glitterdust lasts for a longer duration and cover a larger area
    • FW + Mindfog + Disco Ball, similar to web/glitterdust, use against low will save mobs

there are many ways to stay alive and you don't need to get killed and revenge. Just kill them and let them do the revenge.

Awe, man! From the OP's title, I thought for sure this thread was about Master's Touch.

Thank you (sincerely) for taking what was supposed to be a (admittedly poorly-executed) lighthearted-post and actually turn it into something useful. Those are great suggestions.

As to the rest -- yes, I die sometimes after I get aggro due to Firewalls. I'm a wizard. It happens. I freely admit that I would suck at permadeath play. Lots of characters die in this game for lots of reasons; I don't think that I'm unique in that. Yes of course I would rather not die at all, but I was just trying to express something about that moment of satisfaction that I get when, after I *am* killed like that, I at least get to see my FWs do their job on the mobs that are now hovering over my lifeless corpse. But maybe that's just me...

I think this is the most satisfying way to do it. WF or no...there is nothing quite like laying on the floor, nearly dead, and watching your magic take care of everything around you, then popping up to laugh over their charred corpses!

Those combos are great, but they cost lots of mana. Death usually happens when you try to save mana when you should not have.

    +1 rep

OP, I know that feeling. I get it a lot when using Melf's (I just started my wiz-it's lv 4, so Melf's is pretty useful). It's hilarious to see those stinking kobalds falling over as I'm laying dead on the floor.

Personally I don't find that quite as satisifying as watching a Bearded Devil or Ogre die because their rage ran out while you are incapacitated.
