Default if you were gonna TR twice...

and starting from scratch, and looking for max possible dps,

1st life Rogue, which enables you to select Past Life: Sneak of Shadows (+1 sneak attack damage per 2 character levels) on your 2nd life, as a repulsive squeaking hobbit monk, and then halfling monk again on your 3rd life, at which point you should be able to select both active past life feats, Sneak of Shadows and Disciple of the Fist? Or would you feel a little feat starved from having to use 2 slots for active past life feats and maybe go human on your third life (then having to wait until you could equip tharne's goggles again, or get some backstabbing wraps or w/e, in order for your sneak attack damage to work) just to make sure you had enough feats slots to pick up the goodies (imp crit blud, weapon focus blud)?

I would probably need get in a car accident and lose the use of my legs before I thought it would be a nice use of my time, but what the hey, I'm just thinking out loud here.

boo. i guess i didn't read very closely on Sneak of Shadows. I thought it would constantly be stacked on top of halfling guile or however you were getting your SA damage, and not just another clickie to deal with.

Monk past life gives you +1 dmg.
You obviously if you want the most dmg, TR twice for +2 dmg.

Plus its passive no need to spend any feat
If you ahve room to spend on a feat, you can increase your fist die roll up to 2d12 - even more dmg!

I went from Monk to Monk and I think its the best way to go, +1 damage, and 2d12 fists, i am going to TR into monk again after 20 ToD completions and 20 shrouds.

    This.

Assuming a 1s activation time and theoretical max monk dps, sneak of shadow will add some 4 damage/attack even against 50% fort.

A second monk level will only match this for continual fighting lasting longer than 12 minutes which is somewhat improbable.

A second monk TR might be advantageous if you fight trash one by one, not when dps matters though.

The only time a monk lacks feats is if he’s a halfling that’s trying to get all the Jorasco dragonmarks. Also, you can take the feat any time after level 3. You don’t need to be a halfling or wear Tharnes goggles to take advantage of it. Both Stunning Fist and Unbalancing Strike make a target vulnerable to sneak attack damage. The 1 minute duration/3 uses thing is kind of a pain but isn’t any worse than something like Divine Might.
Things worthy of Standing Stone going EXTREME PREJUDICE™ on.:
    • Epic and Legendary Mysterious ring upgrades, please.
    • Change the stack size of filigree in the shared bank to 50. The 5 stack makes the shared bank worthless for storing filigree in a human usable manner.
    • Fixing why I don't connect to the chat server for 5 minutes when I log into a game world.
    • Fixing the wonky Lightning Sphere and Tactical Det firing by converting them to use alchemist spell arcing.
    • Redoing the drop rates of tomes in generic and raid loot tables.
