I've just bought a Monk, and would like to head on down the Dark Path and have no idea how to do that before I begin the journey. I'd like to have some idea as to what the prereq's are before I gaff (Compendium give some idea, without Update 3 stuff like touch of Death - and I don't think Ron's DDO Planner is current yet), and even the Character Generator does not list the path of the Shadow.

Could someone with more experience and less short term memory loss than myself throw some helpful info or a useful link my way?

There aren't any pre-reqs really. Just the four elemental debuff strikes (enhancements like Porous etc) and the Fists of Darkness Feat. At L9 that opens up the big move.

Pre-reqs are more for "levels of stances". Like you need Water 2 to open Unbalancing Strike at L6. And each level of stance requires a min attribute. These can be checked easily at the trainer or compendium.

This is the only guide/collection of info I know of on the monk here. http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=214991

For a few general starring suggestions make sure you get twf line up, it improves even handwraps for combat.

Dark feats are easy as mentioned above just pick the path at level 3 then the four curses to get touch of death.

Last quick tip is pick a stance for primary use (I personally go for wind) as each grandmaster stance requires an 18 stat in its corresponding attribute.

Wind - 18dex
Water - 18wis
Fire - 18str
Earth - 18con

Monks are stat hungry so many places to put them, you'll want to not miss something you wanted later on.
