Devotion or Potency or Both?

Ive been hearing difffernt things lately that Devotion and Potency items are interchangeable for a cleric.

I have a Superior Potency V Morning star, and a Super Devotion III helm. Do I need both to affect both my healing and offensive spells. I typically have Empower healing enabled?

Can I only use one of these, or am I missing something?

You don't need both. Potency affects all of your damaging spells (healing included), Devotion only your healing spells.

You can use just the Potency, since it applies to both healing and damaging spells.

The only reason you would use a Devotion item of the same strength would be to use it a couple levels earlier due to lower ML requirement.

As a side note, its a good idea since Update 3 to carry Ardor Clickies/Potions. 3 Minutes of up to 60% Healing Bonus. Even Greater Pots you can buy at the vendors help more than Superior Potency/Devotion items. Thats 3 Minutes you dotnhave to worry about what weapons inyour hand as well.. WHich is nice.
