    Default Clerics can't spot high DC traps?

    I decided to start using high +spot goggles since I have nothing better to do with my clerics goggle slot right now. I will frequently run him and my bard/rogue together (2 or 3-boxing) and ran into an annoying realization. Even with a high spot, there's a point (around DC 20 or so) that my cleric can no longer spot traps, regardless of his spot skill. I thought I was just not noticing, but I checked it thoroughly tonight. My bard/rog had his spot skill down to 21 and the cleric was sitting at 27. I went to a couple of known traps and the clerics spot check never fires. I bring the bard/rog in and he spots them all right away.

    Has anyone else noticed this? Do you have to have levels of rogue to be able to spot those higher level traps? Is it possible that my +15 spot goggles, or even my character as a whole, are bugged somehow?
    Life is good. Eternal life is better.
    Drogoth - 19/1 Clr/Rgr || Fenced Goods - 20 Brd || Faeruen - 18/2 Brd/Rog
    Skrak - 10/6/2 Ftr/Rgr/Rog || Briggy - 16/2 Brd/Rog || Tayly - 18 Clr (all max exp)
    More in the works...

    From the SRD, and more or less acurate here, just fill in spot in place of search:

    Rogues (and only rogues) can use the Search skill to locate traps when the task has a Difficulty Class higher than 20.

    Finding a nonmagical trap has a DC of at least 20, or higher if it is well hidden. Finding a magic trap has a DC of 25 + the level of the spell used to create it.

    Rogues (and only rogues) can use the Disable Device skill to disarm magic traps. A magic trap generally has a DC of 25 + the level of the spell used to create it.

    Does the spell "find traps" have any effect on spot? It allows you to search for magic traps, but that doesn't specify if you can spot them too... that'd be usefull
