Default Final Delera's Reward on non-VIP

    Hello

Can you please change the way you get your final reward in Delera's chain? If you're playing on a guest pass, finish all four quests, and the pass expired while you were doing the last quest, you cannot get your reward. Delera is located inside a private instance, which counts as part of the Delera's chain. I can understand that this is a motive to buy the chain, but doing everything and not being able to get the reward is a bit disappointing.

It's not the end of the world if you don't do this, but I believe this is the only quest reward giver that is located in a private instance. Maybe you could make "Return to Delera's Tomb" a F2P quest? It doesn't give any XP, just the favour, and you need to play the chain to access it.

    Thanks for reading

Or maybe get another guest pass?

    There's enough F2P content already.

Sarezar: I think that's a truly reasonable suggestion, and I doubt the Devs are doing that one on purpose--that's likely an oversight. That can't be a feature--it's got to be a bug. I'm a subscriber so I don't know--can you as a F2P'er submit a service ticket on that?

I will give it a try, not sure if I can. I don't know if it's an oversight, maybe a limitation in the current system as the quest is part of the chain, but it sure would be great if they fixed/changed it.

Agreed, just seems like an oversight. Maybe it could be handled by just putting the quest giver inside the graveyard instead of outside of the gate in House J. Not really sure how those guest passes work.

The Deleras chain has been around for longer than I can remember, so I assume this small problem has simply cropped up from the devs not even thinking about how the F2P and passes and such would hiccup in this instance.

It would be nice if they could figure something out that would allow pass holders that finish the chain to always be able to get their end rewards, as that seems pretty fair.

However making that doorway F2P might not be as simple as you think, since it is also an entry for other quests in the chain which are not F2P. However, there are many easy fixes (I.E. Makings Derrick Grospic give you the reward, Or Anyone else you can access after Necromancer.)

Who knows. It'll probably stay the way it is though.

Well, you use a guest pass on a person like a clickie, and once they step into the area the pass is for it starts ticking down. If you are inside an instance with a pass on you and it expires you can finish the quest.

In this instance the player entered Thrall of the Necromancer with not enough time left, finished the quest with zero time left, and then zoned out. you appear in the graveyard, and can run around as mucha s you like, but cannot enter any of the quests.

Once you leave the graveyard you cannot enter again.

Kinda sucks, and Deleras is one of the longer chains for newer groups, so the passes can run thin near the end.

This response is nothing but inflammatory. All he said was to get another guest pass. And I agree that there is enough F2P content at that level as it is. There is nothing snarky about what he posted.

The guest pass has a timer on it for a reason. While the instance in question may be useless except for getting your end reward, it is still part of the chain attached to the timer. Two choices at that point, get another pass or go without the end reward. All in all, it is, in its current form, working as intended. It may be a cheesy nickle and dime intent, but working as intended.

The thing is the person missing out on the end reward can't just go buy another guest pass. It has to be given to them. Having them have to get a (more then likely) paying customer to get them yet another quest pass is unfair to the people already paying to play the game.

This issue has been brought up before, and Turbine should consider looking into fixing it.

It is a guest pass, not a until you complete your objective pass. It is designed so you can see the area and determine if you want to buy it, not complete all the quests there.

Average group can't complete greymoon/cult in 90 minutes.
Average group can't complete all 6 Von's in 90 minutes.
Average group can't do shroud flagging and shroud in 90 minutes.
Average group can't do tower flagging and tower in 90 minutes.

So if you do tangleroot and don't get to the last quest withing 90 minutes you should get in for free? So if you do Deleras and don't get to necromancer you should get it for free? Ok, so you got to necromancer, but can't get in for the reward. You are on a timer, you understood that when you got the pass? You understand that at the end of that time you no longer have access? Everything is black and white, you have 90 minutes to do what you want to do. If you don't get it done, you need another pass. A good group can do all of deleras in under 45 minutes, which makes me wonder what you did for the other 45 minutes. If you took time to get all the optionals and explore, then you decided that was more important then the reward.

I disagree. What it does is waste the passes of the VIP who was giving them.

If I'm running Delera's specifically so a friend/guildy/whatever can get his Voice, I have to give him two passes?

Oh, but for any other quest my pass gift gets him his end reward just fine. Pssh.

Of course, since these are my buds, it'd be rude as host to just leave them hanging, but how can I not help but feel that I just got ripped off by Turbine? Which leads me to suspect that this isn't intentional. At least, it better not be.

Its a reasonable suggestion to change how the end reward is given. It currently wastes the money of the VIP Host, and that ain't cool.

No, the person giving the pass trying to get someone something knows how long they have, and should be responsible enough to get them done in that time. They know the consequences. If I did this, I would get them another pass if that was the objective. Many packs are like this, you can't get the "End" reward, nor is that the purpose of the pass. Some of them it can be done, like getting a voice, next time go faster.

There is nothing to fix, though. If it is that important, or he wants to run that content to completion, he should just knuckle down and get the adventure pack. Then he can run it multiple times whenever he wants. I'm not saying that his situation doesn't suck, but it is working as it is supposed to. As Xy said just above me, it is not a "Until all objectives are done" pass. If it were, then it would be too easy for people to exploit the pass by running the first three parts of Deleras over and over again and then only doing the Necromancer when they've milked the rest of the content dry of XP.

Nah, its designed so the VIP can run with his premium/free-to-play buds.

Its not the recipient whose spending money on the pass. Its not a "try before you buy" item. Its a "be a cooler host for your crew" object.

If I have a premium player bud I want to shoot up to the level 20s, then maybe I want to assist this dude in Delera's. Oh sure, he's bought the high level APs for himself. He's just asking for my help in getting him a voice, so we can hurry up and start running epic together.

Course I want to oblige. We zerg through Necromancer just fine. But then, with 60 seconds left on the clock he can't re-enter the tomb and get his voice? The voice I'm paying (and successfully zerged throug) for so we can sooner run the big game? I feel ripped.

Yeah, I throw him another 30 minute pass because that's what we came here for. But as the VIP I ain't happy at Turbine, and hell yeah I feel like complaining. My premium player bud ain't got money to waste purchasing Delera's permantly. I ain't got time to waste waiting for my bud to catch up. Yet somehow, someone got ripped off here. And its me, the VIP. Me, the one whose customer satisfaction is of the highest priority.

I thought our money was important. *_*

I am sorry I hadn't realized that you were a Dev, my bad.

The first time that this situation was brought up on the forum the guest pass giver filed a ticket and the GM allowed the receiver to enter the quest and retrieve his end reward. Apparently someone at Turbine doesn't agree with you. Being a Dev and all you should probably track that GM down and let them know they did wrong.

The pass says 90 minutes on it when you buy it. What does that mean to you? It means to me that in 90 minutes, regardless of where I'm at in the chain, once I'm finished with that particular quest, I'm done.

Again, I'm not saying that it doesn't suck to not get an end reward, but the point of the guest passes is to let the guest experience the content and see if he wants to purchase it. So, by that standard, and I'm pretty sure that is the standard that Turbine would judge it by, the VIP got his monies worth when he purchased the pass.

thats kind of hard ass...and yet true.

The chain can be done in less then 90 min. Would we also complain if you didnt get to necromancer?

Seriously, everyone should be buying delaras anyway, its good long term value for you.

Are you going to make the same complaint for the mantle? Under your theory "Nah, its designed so the VIP can run with his premium/free-to-play buds.", where in that does it say to get static loot?

So, you think that the timer should be meaningless then? By the fact that there are timers on the passes alone, the GM was technically wrong. But it was a judgment call on his part. I disagree with it, but then again, I disagree with your assessment as well. The timer is there for a reason. If they are going to go around letting people file tickets to circumvent the timers when they don't finish in 90 minutes, then they might as well remove the timers and in turn the guest passes.

Hmm, yeah, that's a tough one...I wonder if they can make just that one last 'go talk to Delera' NOT p2p (err, so I guess make it F2P is what I'm sayin', hehe). As others mentioned, if you didn't make it to the Necromancer that's too bad for you, but missing out on that 5 seconds of going in and talking to Delera to finish seems like a weird borderline case that could be fixed easily if they can just break apart that one last quest back to F2P.

If the tech doesn't easily allow for it then I prefer if they didn't spend extra time on it, unless there are other borderline cases that could also benefit. But if they can relatively easily go in and pull up the Delera's package and click a button to pull that last quest out (drastically oversimplifying I'm sure), I don't see the harm in it.
