Wisdom is important in the sense that monks get their wisdom modifiers to AC, and monk special attacks rely on wisdom to modify their DCs (difficulty checks).

In all, maxing wisdom might not be necessary, but I would recommend keeping it at 16 at least, but monks are tricky overall because of all stats that are needed to make it work.

Depends on if you're making a wis build, a dex build, or a str build. Give those a lookup, I can't attest to be able to give expert advice on them.

Anyways.

Wisdom isn't TOO important on a light side monk. It's buffs don't need saves. Darkside monks I would think would need a much higher WIS since all the finshers are Fortitude based, and since pretty much the only thing darkside affects with a few exceptions is trash mobs, which are typically front line fighters and high Fort save monsters. You need a higher WIS score.

Even the elemental finishers aren't all that great.
