- animation is similar to cone of cold which i don't like. i dropped cone of cold. too slow. i carry otiluke's freezing sphere. dropped chain lightning for same reason.
- there is probably no better dps mob evoker/crowd control spell at that level then prismatic spray. its pretty much all you need in high level content
- sometimes it does nothing. that, i kind of have a problem with
- its expensive as far as spell points. it think mine is 64
- in PnP the target gets hit by seven rays plus possibly an additional, this is just one ray, possibly two. seems underpowered compared to the actual spell from PnP to me. seven rays is **** good. one or more of your saving throws you will miss. making it a **** good spell
- prismatic ray, which i also have seems to be faster animation and have a longer range which i like, even if it is one target
- when i compare it to what i gave up, waves of exhaustion, i find i miss waves in that, whatever you hit with it slows down like a turtle. that's **** good. they may not be turned to stone, feared, sent to another plane or blasted with damage, but they might as well be as slow as they move. waves of exhaustion also makes web amazing. like waves and web will get you by most mobs easily
- prismatic spray doesn't do a whole lot vs raid bosses, waves does
those are my findings so far. i'll probably keep prismatic spray for another few weeks to keep playing with it, but i think i may drop it for waves and just keep prismatic ray
