    Default Feats

Hi I'm new to the high level quests and I think I need to get Insightful Reflex at these levels (18 now) but which to drop?

The non metas I have are:

    Spell Focus Necro and Ench
    Spel Pen and Greater
    Mental Toughmess and Improved.

So do I need it and which one goes?

    Thanks

Out of all of those, I'd probably drop Improved Mental Toughness, but it depends on a few of your stats. What's your INT? How many SP do you have right now? What kind of gear do you have to give you more SP?

Are you pure wiz? If so don't forget that the insigthful reflexes will only get you half damage. Which for most of the
traps/spells that kill you will mean that they kill you in two hits. Also what is your reflex save now? Do you have
+5 res item? I would agree with the sirea that imp mt is probably best. If it was me I would only focus on one spell
scholl too. every +1 counts in the end game.

    what are your metafeats?
since update3 you can take spellfocus and mental toughness instead of a meta feat too, so if theres something useless you can swithc that out with impr mental toughness or one of the spellfocui and take IR as normal feat

    OK a few more details:

Pure wizard elf 28 point build (will upgrade)
Int started 18 currently total 33 including a +2 tome and +6 item
SPs 1667 (haven'y taken all the APs that give them) inc 100sp item
All meta's except eschew, I do seem to use most except heighten, even enlarge which is just plain fun and useful for sniping things like BHs.
Resist item +4 so far plus Giant Head Trinket from Reavers.
Reflex save is only 17 unbuffed, only got +4 dex boots which I always forget to put back on after FF ones. I guess I need to fix this.

OK, honestly I'd get rid of Enlarge. Heighten does become more useful at higher levels when the mobs start catching up to your DCs. Your only problem will be if you took Enlarge as one of your class feats (at lvl 1,5,10,15,20), because you can't switch it out for Insightful Reflexes directly if you did, and it'll take a bit of juggling of feats and a considerable amount of plat and resources. But if you took Enlarge as one of your normal feats (at lvl 1,3,6,9,12,15,18), you're golden.

Also consider running VoD and trying to get the Bracers, they are +200 SP (the gloves are also nice because they'll cut down on the amount of SP some of your metamagics use, and those two items make a set that'll boost your cold spells by a little bit). If you are interested in Shroud crafting, the first item you may want to look at making is a SP item, with up to 150 SP that will stack with all other gear.

Get rid of spell focus enchant.

Crowd control is almost obsolete at higher levels sadly, and even when it is applicable, you will likely not notice the difference much in the saves mobs make.
