Post Enough with the min lvl restrictions for quest

    Hi,

1st post, unknown to everybody in US, coming from Keeper (DDO Europe), hello everyone nonetheless.

    Anyways,

Turbine, please, stop adding level restrictions to quests. I get my pleasure out off going at low level to places such as Pit. Right now, if I am not lvl4, I can not enter. Same for Sorrowdusk. You already added such a restriction to Gianthold a while back.

Please stop this. Yes there are ways around, such as asking a lvl4 lets say for Pit to open for you.

But, please, leave the players that do not want the easy button to challenge themselves as they want.

    Pretty please.

Perhaps if you volunteer to handle all the help calls and tickets from any way underlevel characters trying things they have no business playing in...

Well, dont you only open a ticket if the issue is related to a bug that prevents you to complete?

DOnt know about you, but I dont open a ticket because one of my char is too weak to complete a quest.

I cant really understand people who want to punish smarter/better players to make life easier/safer for dumb majority. That strange trend is visible not only in games btw. You are scarying me, really.

I think the min level has more to do with preventing 1st level characters from riding the coat tails of capped characters to mega favor and Turbine points galore.
there's one thing you never put in a trap if you're smart. If you value your continued existence. If you have any plans on seeing tomorrow then there's one thing you never, ever put in a trap.

But they can still get in if someone is of level, they just cannot open it on their own.

Its a tradeoff. Perhaps annoy a handful of players who cannot open or buy things that are either above them or unusable by them at that time, or deal with the remedial help and trouble tickers from those who are able to make those mistakes. With the store you have the added concern about players spending more than time (ie real $$ used to purchase TP) being wasted on unusable purchases and how to handle things like that. It was easier to just lock out anything not useable by the character and remove that excuse. "I did not know I couldn't use it, so give me my money back" type calls.

Idiot protection is a big part of life today. Did you know for example, that Hot Coffee is actually Hot? Check out those amazing warning labels on some coffee cups theses days.

A good compromise could be to disable this feature once one of your char reached 1750 favor, or something along the line.

So newbie wouldnt get into troubles and would stay in the track of the learning curve, and veterans could keep their fun.

Its a shame your suggestion is getting trolled. Seems like a reasonable one. If they were truly concerned with people going into quests they shouldnt, they could always have a warning pop up - like when you try to leave a quest area before completing.
