No one said anything of the sort. Quite obviously all of the situational damage in this game is dependent on ... the situation. There is no mystery as to why one class/build is superior in a given ideal situation.

And yes, drawing aggro on my finesse build doesn't mean I am doing more DPS, but it can mean that. I mean, I have 20% aggro reduction and I doubt the barbarian beside me is reducing his aggro. Part of dealing DPS is having the ability to stand there and deliver that DPS. The point is simply that raw DPS comparisons don't always show in game results because ideal situations don't actually happen. That's what is being repeated in this thread.

Yeah, there is no doubt that a very well geared monk can hang with the big DPS builds. Basically, any well-geared and built melee character can have effective DPS. For a new player looking to make a DPS build, though, I'd think barbarian is the easiest to make effective.

Thank you man, im leveling both a Barb and a Monk. I like the Barb DPS THF style, and monk have the best survivability ever. So both are cool.

This topic have gone too far imho, sorry for causing all this mess

Yeah, you know I have and that being snide or insulting won't impress me or support your point in any way, right?

actually id have to say that aexeyu simply stating facts + supporting arguments, whereas the previous barb fanatics are only touting speculations, and their own ingame high crit number experiences (falsely peddled as "real dps") pretty much results in only one person in said discussion having any sort of credibility at all - the first one. i mean, anybody with half a brain and a pinch of common sense who didnt even know anything about this game, could read this thread, and see that the only person in the discussion so far who has an actual point is aexeyu.

in any case - i too tire of retards, would you blame me for saying so?

(btw, highest dps = WF 12fighter/8barb so its actually a mix....
maybe youll all have to actually kiss and make up afterall. ;-)

Most of what I've read would say that two weapon paladins are the highest dps (against demons, which are 80%+ of the end game). But, as a new player you will have no hope of gathering enough resources to correctly build a two weapon paladin, so I recommend a rogue instead, or a barbarian if you can't stand being sneaky.

We all can't be the DPS monster that your Sorc/Pali/Rogue is.

Beyond that beast though, 20 Barb is a good second place with Kensai or some bastardization of a Kensai mix trailing behind in 3rd.

Well, pretty much new here, although long time internet forum vet, and even just from this one thread, I can tell Aaxeyu is pretty much trying to win a ****ing contest, and everything Hadrian said about him is legit.

To the OP - not sure this thread will bring you any answers, but you might be wise to avoid what Aaxeyu is saying, if only because its never wise to listen someone who prefers to brow-beat people into their way of thinking vs having an actual discussion with them.
