    Default Forum/myddo/compendium login frustration

Well after the update I finally have a way onto the forum. Im not able to log into it normally through a browser, recieving this message..

We were unable to validate your login information. Please check that your username and password are correct, and that you have an active subscription.

Now I checked and confirmed my forum username, and reset the pass just to be sure. and nothing. Cookies are enabled and theres no firewall issue. Its very frustrating indeed. I've tried multiple browsers and all sorts of things.

Can somebody please shed some light on this issue?

Oh and BTW, quoting a paying (supposedly VIP) member weeks to respond to a support ticket is just shocking. Surely you guys can do better than that.

Turbine officially supports Internet Explorer 6, 7, and 8 (in compatibility mode) as well as Firefox versions 2 or higher. Please be sure you're using one of these browsers.

You can confirm that you're using the correct forum name and password on the Account Management website by following these directions.

    -Go to https://myaccount.turbine.com.
-Log into your account in the “Manage Your Turbine Account” section with the username and password that you use to log into the game.
-Scroll down to your LOTRO subscription.
-Your Forum Username will be listed in the top right corner of your LOTRO subscription box, under the blue words "Forum Account". Your forum account name will be underlined and listed in white letters.
-Next to your Forum Name will be a link to "Change Forum Password". Please click on this link, and follow the directions on the next page to change your forum password.
    -Go to http://forums.lotro.com/
-Log into the Forum in the top right corner with the Forum Name you found on the Account Management website, and the new Forum password you have just created.

This login information should work on both the Compendium and MyDDO websites as well. Please also be sure that you don't have the username and password saved to autofill in your preferred browser, as this can overwrite anything you type in.

If these steps don't fix the problem then please contact the Forums team using the link in my signature. I'm not sure how fast their response is right now, but I can assure you that they answer all inquiries in the order they are received.

    Thanks for your prompt reply.

Im running a fresh install of win 7 with the IE8 it ships with.
Checked and tripple checked that I am using the correct login details.
    And still no go.

Today I also checked to see if I could get onto the forums at another location, on a PC where I know people can log into the forums succesfully. And still no go.

So I guess that leaves me waiting for a reply to the support ticket submitted some days ago now.

Its hard posting this without letting my frustration and dissapointment shine through. Clearly I've set my expectations on what is good service and what constitutes VIP service too high. With my next billing date a few days away, I think I'd be a bit of a mug sending more money if I still can't access the forums. I suppose I shall try to be more patient, and will make a descision closer to the day.

Anyway, thanks again for your prompt reply, I know your just doing your job and my dissapointment is not directed at you.

I have to admit, I'm a bit confused. You are able to log into the forums and post, as you started this thread. Is it a different account or are you just having this issue on the MyDDO and Compendium sites?

Since update 3, theres a new icon on the main bar that opens up all 3 support sites in a DDO store sized window in game. That comes up signed in and ready to go.

Its just by coincidence that I've been trying to log onto these sites unsuccessfully for some weeks lol.

Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy this option has popped up, and its heaps better than nothing. If only I didn't have to run the game to get here, and browse in this pocket sized window, I might be tempted to just make do with it.

Hi, just a quick note to wrap this up. Account support re-reset my pass and now its working just fine.

Not sure why my own pass reset didn't work. But all's well that ends well.

I thank you once again for your prompt attention to this matter. Even though you weren't able to sort it, your interest in doing so gave me the patience to wait for a reply on my ticket.

    Cheers.
