yeah, but keep telling me tab is enough.
Apparently the "problem" isn't hindering the other players in your example. Perhaps you should rephrase your suggestion and instead seek some advice?

If it dies that fast, what does it matter that you can't target it? Tab out and watch some Hulu. It's not like your presence is needed at that point.

This may come as a bit of a shock, but perhaps the added difficulty in seeing a monster when half a dozen people are flailing away at it is meant to be reflective of the difficulty of wading into a fight where this many people are swinging swords around a single opponent.

1.)If you see a group and not a monster I bet they are either giving haste or attacking something
2.)If you want to kill the caster but they aren't fighting the caster like you said the caster should be in plain site
    3.)Turn on overhead health bars
4.)Press V it turns off fliaty names
5.)Macro select next target to whatever key and boom the creature glows
    6.)Become a caster and firewall
    7.)Cleave
8.)Press V + Floaty health bar + tab(or what ever you macroed) = easy to see

yeah my advice is smartass thank you. You keep flaming when the advice given Was great and next time don't bring age into it. I'm 16 but yet I gave you 8 reason to solve a solution with out making turbine go through programming. It's problem solving bud, you learn it in second grade. Also trying to make a game that everyone who plays doesn't want to be like wow and say change it to make it like wow, seems like you should go play wow?

    Default The bottom line...

The bottom line is that most players don't think this is as big a deal as the OP seems to.

    That is all.

Additionally to the great advice given above (tab, v, colors, etc) I'd like to ask what situations there are where 6-7 people beat up a single mob that is the same size as player's avatars?

Most bosses are taller than players -> Boss is visible
All other mobs are down and the black guard is the last one standing -> with that many people beating him up, he won't be standing much longer. Either you're melee, then you can just go in and take a couple of swings or you're a caster. When you're a caster, save your sp for some mob where magic is useful.

So the reason for the negative replies here is simply that most people regard such a change as unnecessary.

You could try elaborating your point and showing why such a thing would be good or necessary. But the example you brought just doesn't do that.
Also, I've heard that remaining friendly and non-aggressive really helps.

k, skipped most of the thread so sorry for repetition if i do:

OP asked for brainstorming on how to deal with this (what others call non-issue) without tabbing.

i would suggest something akin to the party health bars we have at the moment, with monsters getting a bar once they come into our awareness.

i.e. and empty non selectable bar when we hear something, a empty but selectable bar when we spot something and a detailed bar once they are fully uncovered (details such as class, CR, health...)

personally i get by with tabbing and checking out the orb but something like i've described would be most welcome.
