Default How do I put a "value" on a weapon?

I'm trying to figure out which Kama's and which wrappings to throw away. Also entwined in this is, what makes a better/more powerful 'set'? I suspect the dollar value in to be considered, but what about the Name portion? Example; a +4 weakening Kama of Maiming. Should that be paired with another Weakening Kama or another Maiming Kama? Would it go better with a +3 Holy Kama of Maiming or a +4 Ghost Touch Kama of Maiming?
Example; I have a +1 shocking burst of Disruption Kama which is "better" than a +5 Kama. And a +5 Metalline Kama of Pure Good seems to work well with it, but I don't see a clue as to how I would know that ahead of time. I'm betting there is a hierarchy that I need to understand before knowing which weapons are 'better'. Where can I find that?
Thanks in advance for your input....

OP: There is no easy answer to your question. Every weapon effect in DDO is situational. What you need to do is figure out what situations are you going to encounter and how are you going to deal with them.

You gain this knowledge by hitting stuff with the weapon and seeing how well it does. If you see Purple or Red numbers then you’re doing good with at least one effect. If you see yellow numbers you may need to reevaluate. If you see Green numbers or “Immune” messages… it’s time to switch weapons.

The first step in this is to read the descriptions of the weapon effects. Here’s a nice guide for you: LINK

The second step is to ask yourself a question: “What am I going to hit with this weapon?”
Things worthy of Standing Stone going EXTREME PREJUDICE™ on.:
    • Epic and Legendary Mysterious ring upgrades, please.
    • Change the stack size of filigree in the shared bank to 50. The 5 stack makes the shared bank worthless for storing filigree in a human usable manner.
    • Fixing why I don't connect to the chat server for 5 minutes when I log into a game world.
    • Fixing the wonky Lightning Sphere and Tactical Det firing by converting them to use alchemist spell arcing.
    • Redoing the drop rates of tomes in generic and raid loot tables.

    Couple of quick thoughts....
*Ditch Maiming on Kamas. Neither the Crit Range nor the Crit Multiplier make it worth while if you can find something else.
*Weakening is best paired with another Weakener...The object being to reduce something to zero Str as fast as possible, at which point you switch to another weapon to maximze damage output. (This is a very common tactic against Beholders which have very low Str as it prevents them from using abilities but Anti-Magic)
*Same goes for Wounding if you're using it.
*Beyond that, mix and match till you find what works. Remember that numbers listed on the weapon (upper right and base value) don't determine how good it is. And there is no one perfect weapon combination for all situations. Remain flexable, and carry a backpack full of weapons!

    Default good ideas

Thanks for both these replies. They'll be good guides as I attempt to put some semblance of order into my backpack.
