Things not to Brag about when Your Guild is running a Raid. . .

I joined a PUG shroud yesterday, mostly one guild . . .and the first thing I hear is :

"I can raise 7 people in a minute. . . ."

And then he really went into detail about it like it happens on a regular basis. Prob best saved for guild chat.

Out of curiousity, was the shroud run smooth?

I stayed thou... just because I never miss the chance to rip on someone thru-out the raid. We where making fun of him so much my cheeks hurt...

It was not my ideal of smooth. . .no. But I am an elitist zergin arse who wants every shroud to be less than 20 mins. I have been in worse pugs tho.

I like to give out merfolk's.. does that make me a bad cleric?

I always ask for Merfolks when pugging and someone asks if anyone wants anything. Over half the time I get it.

About a quarter of the time, I get laughed at, like I am joking or something.

About an eighth of the time, someone says they don't have it loaded, or wonders aloud if we need it before the first shrine, or offers to recall to town to load it up.

And about an eighth of the time I get ripped into by someone who figures I am a total idiot. Those are my favorites

One time someone said, 'Oh wait, I have a clickie here somehwere', and dropped a Grease, which caused him (and him alone) to slide into the fire trap on the way to the last cave in Gwylans. Good times, good times........

LOL, I was in the OP's raid as well, joined before. Unfortunately, he obviously missed the important parts: it was one of the clerics second time healing a Shroud, first time had a party wipe. They were discussing how to recover lag deaths quickly. As I recall, the discussion was, "I keep both raise dead and resurrection mem'd since they are on different timers, so i can raise 3 people in about 5 seconds, and the other cleric can heal throughout."

I normally don't post, since these boards are so negative, but hey! It was something I watched as well!

That and I always find it funny how long-timer players try and brag about how horrible their latest pug was... that actually succeeded with a brand new cleric.

More info is required to know whether this was good or bad leadership. Everyone has been on a run at level where there Cleric has used both shrines before the end and then refuses to recall for spell points, so starts the final fight empty and then is unable to heal Part6…

I guess if you haven't played in 6 months and your first quest back is leading a von raid. Otherwise ony n00bs would worry about this.....

Jeeez lighten up-it was a very funny thing to hear this first after joining the group--and yes though it was funny I wouldve dropped on healer. AS you said I missed the first part--and that is probably all the more why it was funny to hear.

FWIW I woulda prolly heard the same thing......Course me and the OP have a tendency not to listen, esp to each other.

Hotbar = Good

Hotkey = Bad, especially if its on your 'F' key

My point is that it makes a very bad impression to lampoon someone for asking how to improve their play, publicly admitting that they are new. It is something I have seem much of lately, and is discouraging. I joined this game because of the possibilities of the community. This thread is but one of many derailing that.

Here's the best advice I can think of to improve ones play...

Keep comments that relate to recovering from a Shroud wipe in Guild chat, especially if you are going back into the Shroud. Seriously, with all the flotsam that have recently washed up on the shores of raid PUGging, you really want to make a good impression.
