Melee dps raid build

My guild needs high melee dps with survivability, so I'm thinking about getting a new toon going.

I started a wf monster (12ftr/6rng/2mnk) and it was seriously fun.

But I'm wondering if there's a better high dps/survivability build out there, or if this is really the optimal one.

/signed fighters and rangers get an automatic hitpoint and dr reduction that makes them utterly unable to get the 20 from DoD or 10 from stoneskin, and the toughness enhancement lines and madstone just aren't available to them.

Barbarian rage / constitution sure aren't. As both a healer and a "squishy" DPS, I'd rather have a barb on aggro duty for Horoth, Judge/Sulu and DQ Epic than any other class.

A) "tanked" is a very relative term in that raid, that reall means nothing. The players that make it happe are the ones that deal the damage to her, not anyone else. Don't kid yourself. If your really epic, you can run around in a circle and avoid a very slow moving marelith.
B) I agree. If you "tanked" a boss with totally random agro, you probably used intimidate, in which case you were a waste of a party slot as it can be done in 3 minuits instead of 12 without it.

The Monster or exploiter are the way to go. You don't want the Axer party style for the most part, the make up works but finding that many healers and casters with no other melees would be an issue.

Axer party make up

1 Axer
1 Bard
1 other melee (optional)
6 Healers (all trying to keep Axer up)
3 Casters

It's all about the Axer
