Default To Drow or Not to Drow

With Issue3 coming up I was excited about reincarnating my elf rogue into a Drow...until I found out you can't change race short of a TR. I'm new'ish to the game and have only a few Adventure packs open and play pretty casually (family, work, etc.) But I want to change some things on my rogue now that I know more about the game (and found the planner so I can build toward certain things more easily.)

My question is if people think it is worth restarting my level 6 elf rogue (not super high but my 2nd highest given my desire to try other classes and playtime) and become a Drow rogue. If not I can fix my feats and enhancements without reincarnation and just keep elfing along.

Thanks for the help in advance.

If you think you can do better with a new build, be less squishy, do more damage, etc.
Then rerolling is a decent option for a level 6 character.

Drow is a decent option if you do not have 32 point builds yet.
    Occasionally playing on Cannith

Drow + Rogue, I approve. Not that you need my approval

The only thing better would be to hold out for Veteran status (start at level 4), but if you only play so often I think you would have more fun playing that Rogue through level 4 than grinding the Elf that you probably detest now that you have Drow.

If the build doesn't cater to Drow roll Human.

Focus on your favor to unlock 32.

    Then go Halfling.

This is the kind of thing that bothers me while browsing these forums. Its one thing to bash Drow in all the other forums, but here you are in the Drow race forum bashing Drow? What the Hell!?! Are you lost? Did you find this thread via search and failed to notice where it was posted? What is your purpose? Maybe since you've had an account since '06 you don't realize how much favor is required to unlock 32pts, I've seen the break downs you can't do it and still be F2P.

    Why?

    Drow make perfectly viable Rogues.

+2 DEX for easier ITWF/GTWF (also Finesse builds), +2 INT for more skill points and higher DD/Search checks and DC on Assassinate and +2 CHA for better Diplomacy and UMD checks. Plus the Rapier enhancements for boosting damage by 2 on all attacks for 6 APs (as opposed to boosting Sneak Attack damage by 8 for 20 APs). Also there's the Enchantment Resistance and the innate Spell Resistance that can help get through the early levels.

You can reset you enhancements at a trainer for a gold/plat cost. As for feats you change one feat for a perfect siberys and gold at fred in house J.

    Thumbs up

Well I did the "old school reincarnate" and deleted the elf....it feels good to be back on the dark side. At the same time I decided to leave the pure rogue path and follow a 13/6/1 build since it seemed to fit my playstyle. I'm digging the Drow and, as of right now, have no desire to play a halfling. I'm not much for "best" race/class combos unless they resonate with me as a concept. I guess I have a hard time letting go of the old Pen and Paper roleplay concepts.

Thanks for all of the feedback.
