Is this the right place to suggest the developers to look at items?
If not - please ignore or move to the correct area.
If so then could the developers look at a few things for newer players starting the game.
1. The pre-set character builds should probrably get a face-lift.
example: I started several months ago and have played other MMO (not WOW) for about 10 years or so. I am not new to the genre but I am new to this particular one. I am not familiar with 3.5 rule set. When I played D&D you bought 3 tiny books that came in a box with some colored dice. Yes the 70s. Understanding my own ignorance with 3.5 rules and progressions I choose a default template based on the descriptions in-game of these sub-classes because I felt (at the time) that I would rather trust the game developers than my own ignorance in building a character.
From the compendium this is the description of the Virt:
A recent discussion in the lamania discussion thread caught my attention and I join in the conversation. Out of this communication I am now enlightened that the path I choose based on the in-game descriptions is really not true. And the path makes up less than 5% of the parent class meaning that the more experience community member recognize this sub-class really as a "sub"-class."Path: Virtuoso of the Sword
Class: Bard
Suggested Race: Elf
Solo Ability: Good
Devoted to the sword and the art of song, these bards are able to extend the duration of their song effects and can enthrall multiple enemies at once, virtually paralyzing them.
Choose this path if you prefer a fairly aggressive role that excels at controlling enemies.
As a Virtuoso you will be the best at bardic music. With your musical skills you can greatly benefit yourself and your party and can also have a major negative impact on enemies.
You will focus both on suppressing enemies and fighting them directly with your sword. You will have some healing ability as well and will be self-sufficient. In addition, you will be able to mesmerize enemies better than anyone, immobilizing them for very long durations until you or your party is ready to fight them."
If the community classifys this sub-class of character as "gimp" and "bad-build" and "has no usefullness in after lvl16 content" I am confused as to what to believe at this point. 95% of the community cannot be wrong???? Makes it hard to continue to extend Trust.
Leads me to my second point:
2. I was posting in the CC thread on lamania because I thought the changes being suggested there for HS were targeting a specific class or furthering to sub categorize the sub class of the Virt. This is not true and why I am posting here and not there anymore. The CC thread is independent of what I would like the developers to look at.
My intent is posting on the lamania discussion board was trying to bring exposure the changing durations or DC or altering any CC effects hits the Virt harder than it does any other sub-class. It does this because the ability awarded for this prestige is basically a determental type effect rather than a beneficial one so any changes in how saves are made or the effective duration not only are a blanket accross all CC but also singularly devalues the bonus abilty granted to the Virturoso: Enthrallment.
Why does this build have Cleave and Great Cleave?
Why does this build have bastard sword as an exotic weapon feat?
Why does the elf start with an 8 constitution? Isnt this too low?
Why is there not a single build for a Virt posted?
