Post Casual = Easy Button? - a response from my point of view

You know...I've read so many posts on this type of thing "easy button this, no challenge that" Honestly folks, I know that a lot of people don't like the casual setting, but if you don't like it don't use it. They haven't changed hard and elite. In fact, most of the time when I'm grouping that's what we end up running quests on. Casual mode just allows folks who are just fiddling around and want to do a few quests on their own time, to actually feel like they are accomplishing something.

Here it is from a personal prospective:
Honestly there are times when I can't group, (be it I'm preoccupied with cleaning the house or playing a little while I'm watching a game or something else on tv), so I end up out in an explorer area or something to just pass the time. I'd rather do that then have to hold up the party every so often with "brb 1 minute, laundry". What the casual mode will let me do is play something like the VON quests (or something equally group intensive) at my own pace with a hireling.

This serves two purposes in my opinion:
    1. Allows someone like me some time to play the game during times when I cannot dedicate time to group, without putting anyone else out by having to AFK a lot. During which I still get some experience rewards.
    2. Allows me to learn the quest so that when I am able to group, I will know exactly where to go without holding the group up for any reason.

What I do think would be a great idea is this: Make the drop rate for named items, something so minescule that it would basically be non-existant...but still "possible", say 1% drop rate.

Also...for raid flagging quests such as VON, Necropolis, and Sands, they should make it so that you have to complete all quests on at least normal in order to be flagged. That way even though I go through VON 1-4 on casual to learn the quests...I would still have to group in order to complete them on Normal to get flagged for the raid.

I know i'm kinda all over the place here...but basically the bottom line is this...Casual will have its place in society. it's not an easy button...its Solo with the ability to bring in your hireling or a few friends. I see nothing wrong with this.

Thank you for listening to my slight rant, but I'm very pro-Turbine right now for what they have done to improve the game for both f2p players and VIP. I don't think that Casual will be a bad thing by any stretch of the imagination. Personally I can't wait for Update 3. Lamannia looks GREAT! :-D

In closing, keep up the great work Turbine.

I agree completely. As long as the reward is proportional to the risk/difficulty, I have no problem with casual.
