why should the drow want to take over stormreach?

it seems you want some Race vs Race battles.

i would say that this should NOT take place in stormreach or other areas where it jsut wont fit into.

but maybe a new area where each race has their own outpost (start area) and each race battle with the others for neutral outposts on that map would be ok.

no idea if the game supports i.e. a group of 6 peopel for each race fighting on one map... lag, game performance etc.

I must say I like the concept. Not really the Drow invade, but something.

The best thing I've ever seen in game was the live even when Shavarath opened up (MoD 6 ?). Devils and orthons in the market killin lowbies, the tent going boom and taking Nat Gann with it, a gazillion marketplace instances cuz EVERYONE was in game. That was TOTALLY WICKED!

How long ago has that been? A year and a half? Two years? I'd say we are definately due for another spectacular live event.

I challenge you, Turbine! Can you out-do yourselves???

What I see is possibly the best intro to a NEW RACE!!!!!
Depending on what the race would be obviously, but just as a thought, have say the Orcs have an up rising, getting ****ed off at the "better races" and their superiority.
A live event with the Orcs invading Stormreach and we get to kick some butt!!! But near the end of the event we seem to be getting over run by shear numbers when the HALF ORCS show up!!!!! Be NPC or Dev controlled?!! Half Orcs come to our aid and together drive them back to the wilds. Think that would be a kick @$$ intro to a new race. What ya think? Could be a whole Orc themed mod with new quests from mid to high lvl content. They could even change the Orcs into what ever pretty colours they wanted too to make it seem like "oh my god!! New monsters!!!" lmao (what? seemed to work for every other monster in game. Trogs, trolls lol giant, knolls......)

Disregarding the Drow invasion idea, I love live event concepts. The destruction of the Marketplace Tent and the Devil Invasion was fun as all get out!!! More of those and I will be all about it!

I'd be there for it, that's for sure.
I was there for the battle-royales at the end of both betas - as well as for the Marketplace Invasion. They were all an amazing amount of fun, and I'd love to see more of em.

We are invaded by Dragonborn. Upon sucessfully repelling the invaders, we are given
special tokens that will give us access to....Argonessen ( Land of the Dragons).
Where we will find new quests starting with brand new level 1 toons.
Which also include the new races of gnomes, half orcs, and half elves.
New class of Druid would be available..since 90% of quests are in the open.
Also the Lycanthropes that the Silver Flame thought they eliminated are there as well.

I absolutely love this idea. I'd love to see some new races/classes added and I think this would be a brilliant way to introduce them.

That said, I like the OP's idea too, though perhaps find a way to avoid anti-drow racism but retain the uber fun live event portion.
