I agree completely. Haven't ran any high lvl quests or raids lately but it appears systemic as this is true in low level quests and trying to say it isn't a problem or trying to point out that it is another character's role to take care of these things for you so you can do your own role well it just doesn't cover it. No you don't have to buy pots to cover everything. There are disease immunity, proof against poison, and blindness ward items regularly pulled. Carrying 1-5 pots to clear these from your character then putting on the item will conserve resources for the whole party and is inexpensive. Remove curse potions are a staple for every character.

Wands fit into their own catagory. Many classes can carry and use these yet running low to mid level quests the number of people that can use these and don't even have them is mystifying. I would assume from this that it applies just as well at high levels.

Scrolls are not usable by every class but they are also not cheap. During recent times I haven't seen any offers to offset the cost of any healing supplies used by healing classes. This would not be a problem with long time players who have the resources to purchase their supplies although the offer would be appropriate and appreciated. New players however don't have the resources and have to foot the bill and the less players are willing to help them by equipping themselves with some of these items the larger that bill becomes. New healers are rare and who would want to roll one up when failure is a party's fault and yet is usually blamed on the healer who is spending his resources trying to help those who won't help themselves. Although this a giving a new cleric the benefit of the doubt that they will spend their own resources on behalf of the party.

Expecting someone else to cover all of these things for you is simply bad play. "It's their job" isn't good enough to excuse draining someone unnecessarily of their resources when it is quicker and more effective to use your own. Posts like this are going to be helpful as more and more are beginning to look over the forums to learn more about how to play and guides and advice are reaching those who want to be reached.

There are some interesting points in this post....

With the implementation of the FtP model, as well as the extreme ease of leveling up toons these days.... I'm seeing far more players doing the high level content, who are unequipped and inexperienced, which is to be expected. But I'm also seeing a dearth of players who simply can't afford, in game terms running that content. It's easy enough to buy your way up with the DDO store, but that doesn't provide youth the in game currency IE: Plat. Most don'teem to realise, that becasue their toons are ill equipped, in addition to their inexperienced play l;eads to some expensive questing. Yes, for a good number of longtime Vets, such as myself, having many millions of Plat it isn't a big deal. But I see this as becomign mroe and more of a problem as time goes on.

I thinik the problems associated with the way DDO is today, the ease of hitting end game content, and the lack of knowledge of this new wave of players gettign their so fast has jsut now started to ripple through the game... More problems are too come...
