I resent any implication that I am in some way closer to a lowly organism than a construct simply because the properties of livewood mimic some of the higher order of sentient biologicals! Though it is true some biological material was used in the fabrication of my body primarily as a flexor to provide motive force and fine articulation I am in no way to be considered merely *equal* to fleshbags wrought by chance, circumstance, and some strange gods with deep flaws, a creative block, or a fascinating sense of humor. We are a purposeful evolution created by the finest mind that mankind has been able to produce. Only Aaren D'Cannith in all of mannish history has had the vision, foresight, and intellect capable of not only reaching the conclusion that men are a doomed race, but engineering a superlative replacement as well.

To quibble about whether we have a soul or 'life' is immaterial, these things are irrelevant to an enlightened being. The soul is merely an incorporeal residue left floating through the aether after the dissolution of the flesh which gave it form, a trickle of power in manshape to be sucked up by greedy demons or gods with which to bolster the facade of power tricking lesser races into worshipping them as if they were more than merely ascended mortals or extraplanar denizens with delusions of grandeur.

And life, life is merely a process that the fragile fleshy things of this world go through every day, consuming, excreting, sleeping, and reproducing, all without purpose. Warforged do not live, we Exist. A year without sleep or movement contemplating the deeper mysteries of the arcane, a month perfecting a single strike. No fleshly 'living' being can exhibit such concentration and dedication to any task or separate it's consciousness from it's base bodily functions to truly attain the clarity required to contemplate and understand the multiverse as it is. We are above your arguments of life, death, or undeath, we transcend such trivial forms of existence. We are truly immortal and unfettered by the chains of life, we are the future, we are the Warforged.

What really needs to be done is find a way to develop AMP devices or Anti-Magical Pulse in the hopes of permanently shutting you down. Having fulfilled you purpose in winning the war your continuing existance is a threat to all life on Ebberron as shown by a (possible?) minority who have deemed all non constructs (fleshies) to be enemies and are determined to wipe us all out. Constructs are created for specific purposes. Your purpose is war hence the name Warforged.

Those Cannith fools were playing far beyond their depth and as fools often do did not think of putting an On/Off button on their creations or consider that giving a construct an alien intelligence allowed it to make decisions for itself. Decisions they would have no control over. Like so many foolish and dead mages too busy marvelling over new discoveries to think of future costs they pushed on heedlessly. Short lived races have such narrow vision, playing god with the mind of a newborn. There is now no way to take back the life given to these created immortals or to be sure that they understand or will accept the concept of peace.

sure a Warforged Appreciation Day sounds good. I'd appreciate it if you'd let me live and kill those Cannith guys 1st.

Not all of us follow the heretical Lord of Blades. Fear not, my only companions are fleshies, who I will fight to the death to protect, even against my fellow warforged. A man (or forged) does not choose his race or sire, he merely adapts to his situation as best he is able.

That is a great relief to hear. Still I don't intend to remove the rust monsters that patrol my woodland stronghold and can only hope that the magics protecting it can withstand and detect any intrusion planned by the ranks of your immortal metal mages. The gods themselves I beg to protect me should Ghoste seek my life. Yes I do hope that all will prove well. We have thousands of years, you and I, to see what time will tell.

A thousand years you say? I fear I'll have fallen into disrepair by then.

I am glad you realize that not all of us follow the Lord of Blades, but you are right to be wary of his fanatical and zealous followers. But rust monsters? Do you not think we've managed to cope with those fell creatures?

There, you've hit on it. They are just short bags of flesh. Some shorter than others.

They all scream the same when you start pulling their appendages all directions though.
