LOL and yet I've sat in groups waiting for 20+ mins in HOUND and VoD because we were waiting for a Bard.. I've never tried one but I'd say that is a testimonial to their non suckness.

It's simply amazing how many lfms exclude rogues as soon as they have one, or just leave them out from the start. Especially when the leader is a rogue (*facepalm*).

I don't mind it though, just another indicator of which groups to avoid!

but...but .... multiple rogues in a quest where things are critable is a sure fire way to crush them.

Yeah people are stupid. I get declined in my wf monk because I'm not dps? At end double the kill count while soloing and others die and I say well I'm no dps didn't want to bother you, same with ranger Iau kite but who is alive in the end? My evasion cleric gets denied because I can't heal? My sp is gimp but when I finish with have 700 hp and same with my brizard. Got declined because they had a barb had a wiz and had a rog didn't want one guy to fill al three spots? "cough" ignorance! Great post btw

You know I am kind of done with trying to change peoples mind about certain class. They will go the way they know till they themself learn otherwise. It's just too much to argue over silly stuff. Get your own lfm going and watch it fill faster. You will be done by the time the are about to start. got declined from tear on my monk cause they already had one. I went and soloed it while they stil had lfm up go figure....

I am also inclined more and more to let virtuality slap them in the face for a wake up call...

Should they ask for advice or anything I am there but no longer am I stepping in to volunteer an opinion unless I trust and percieve those people really may consider what my thoughts are about the matter. On this note I think I should thank Ryan1616 and Quanefel on behalf of a newbie level 17 pally we met in group together... you both reinforced my mind that heart and understanding still have a place in DDO.

I am extremely upset our Aranticus takes leave of the forums, despite his recent lashing on some posts presented as documentation from a players viewpoint - is easy to see he indeed is fed up with how many people self proclaimed themselves expert yet they are truely clueless...

Aranticus is a "Hero" - yes at one time long ago on Reidra his Urden was a Fallen Hero - Why? Well quite simply I know talent when I see it, skilled, intelligent and kind. Sure we all may be wrong in view sometimes - but Aranticus percentage of such be far lower than anyone who's played for but six months... All is not gospel we are only human - experience and reasoning serve to educate ourselves and thus share that education with our friends and reasoning without actual experience be nothing more than a guess.

Experience in DDO does not = xp ... a level 20 is easy to attain even a TR'd one be just double grind thru quests... it does equal the observations one makes on builds, strategies and tactic, while playing many differing classes over the years. Experience is real time.

I as well see the daily struggle on who or when to aid those in need. Valient Effort goes a long way in my book. I still have trouble determining who is making the cut now-a-days with all these new builds but I try to stay strong and still leave spots in my raids and parties for the builds unknown. Sometimes I am shocked and others complete disappiontment nontheless the spot always stands.
I still have love for the ranger but I've always had love for rangers. As someone who rolled a ranger WAYY back in the day (lol) before many shot was as glorious as it is today. I hold hope that understand of the new builds will come and that one day my ranger as well will stop being called a noob and allowed into parties! The irony of my top 3(orginal) toons being called noobs makes me giggle endlessly!
I know all of you most of you know me and you all would be more then welcome in any of my parties no matter how strange the build you send my way I trust within your judgement.

I hear what you are saying, My ranger "Gallifrey" with madstone and various other buffs hits 41str and >700hit points and does well at tanking and dealing dps. I send a tell a few days ago for some person who will remane nameless who is looking for "Tanks" for a vale quest (he has listed fighter, paladin and barb) and I said "Rangers" to which he replied "rangers are not tanks"....

I am just hoping that with the mass of new players that we will not be seeing rangers left of LFMS and have to re-educate people (again).

Well, make it a point to run in lowbie pugs with your rangers and rogues and play the hell out of them - right after the quest completes tell everybody to check the kill count and take note of what a properly built ranger/rogue can do. The road to changing perception is going to start at the bottom by catching people early on before they get the chance to develop their unwarranted bias.

They may know I'm a gimp but at least I can get in a group. Last time I checked your FVS was soloing non stop. They know your beyond gimp. And don't try to act like you're soloing because you want to. LOL

Maybe this is the reason Noob rangers are gettin a bad rap, because all the Freetards see the DPS potential but have no clue about making a balanced survivable build (Hint for all you newbtards, a Fort item is your friend as well as your clerics, GET ONE!).

I hear ya. I rolled up a lowbie last night to see how Korthos was going--and man, these groups I was in -- in one of them, 4 out of 6 were ranging stuff. Good thing it was only Korthos.

Cold is very much an issue when the temps here in the summer stay about 125 in the summer and can hit 130. It's rare to saee days colder than 55. So there isn't enough booze in the world to take the chill off my bones where you live.

Anyway get out on the water, get your fish, and get to smoking them. Or making spicy tuna hand rolls. Dang that sounds good.

But I just have to say sorry to be you and have to wait that long, any quest in game can be done without a bard or any other class in that matter. Bards make the quest a bit easier,but doesn't mean at all it can't be done without them. I woudn't wait that long to fill a group just to get a bard, guess people don't mind waiting.

Ya, I have an Elly and an Ally that run around incognoto. I use them to sneak into yer groups to make sure your play is up to expected standards
