ME OK NP my ranger can hit a 40 STR self buffed and has 520 hp and I've ran it at least 400 times and have soloed the quest before they made the graphics change but if that's not enough of a tank enjoy and good luck.

I join I head to entrance as we are waiting forever to fill the last spot. So I finally suggest we just 5 man it.

5 minutes later ding a fighter joins and it's the leaders friend. Leader states now we have a tank we'll own this quest.

End of quest the fighter has 24 kills the sorc has 62 and Watneys the ranger has 90 something.

Next quest different leader is A Shroud run. I'm on Sapporo my Fighter. We're once again looking to fill and I look at the LFM and see the only open spots are for fighters & Barbs. So I send private tell to leader.

It's your group but why no rangers.

Leader I've been playing this game long enough to know what builds can't dish out damage and rangers and monks can't dish out damage.

Hmmm there are all ranger and all monk Shroud groups sometimes. Did you know this? Arkat is a WF monk that could keep up with any of my dps toons. It's not the class it's the person building the class. Just so you know when you put up LFMs omitting those classes it usually steers the vets that know how to play this game away. It's a red flrag to them that the leader in inexperienced or the raid is most likely going to fail.

No. They like me have been playing for 3+ years, and they not necessarily me are considered some of the best players on the server. You can learn a lot from them.

All I know is rangers suck all they, do is run around with many shot and shoot arrows.

Conversation ends after we finally fill and go do quest.

So like my other post last month here we go again. Can't wait to see how long this is going to take to work itself out.

They may know I'm a gimp but at least I can get in a group. Last time I checked your FVS was soloing non stop. They know your beyond gimp. And don't try to act like you're soloing because you want to. LOL

Far from it dude! Most vets on here know and play far better than I can or ever will. People like you are far more fitting to be held in that regard.

It has nothing to do with how good me or anyone else is. It has nothing to do with what me toon can or can't do. It's simply pointing out the fact that a toon can have str and hp regardless of class. Telc has a sorc that's going to hit 500 hp and is currently over 300 hp at level 11 ish. He told us about it. Does that make him a braggart? No he was telling us so that we could open our eyes to something new.

i hear ya beer man. i have seen sorcs tank orthos in Vod, FvS tank all the bosses in ToD, and str based rangers and pallies even that dual wield and dish out more damage than most of the "tank" classes i have seen lately.

P.S. while i do not consider my self the best player i am one of those vets that doesn't join lfm's lookin for dps that excludes rangers.

It's simply amazing how many lfms exclude rogues as soon as they have one, or just leave them out from the start. Especially when the leader is a rogue (*facepalm*).

I don't mind it though, just another indicator of which groups to avoid!

Think this is more that they have no idea because most of the newer folks think Rangers need to always range....but I do agree....see it on my STR ranger and rogue quite often since f2p.

Ran Sovereign Host on my STR rogue Assassin and we were almost done with the quest and I was doing the traps up the ramp and the leader started waiting for me to finish the traps to fight cause they were getting it handed to them without me.

Takes time, but I make it a point to drop Rangers, Fighters, Barbarians and Paladins that spend a complete quest plinking away with a bow instead of mixing it up and providing some dps. Maybe some will get the hint.

You're right all sorts can tank. The problem is the newb sees fighter and assumes tank. All that symbol does is give someone who's clueless on rolling a toon a mask to hide behind. Newb leader sees the symbol and assumes hp and str. I can't tell you how many new fighters I've seen who dump con and assume that AC will make up for it. They think that a 45 end game AC is great. You can't tell them different. Meanwhile a vet takes a rogue as guildmaster pointed out and rolls him correctly and ends up with more HP and DPS than the so called tank.

Hopefully as more new people play they will read the forums and posts like this and replies like yours will open their eyes?

You know I am kind of done with trying to change peoples mind about certain class. They will go the way they know till they themself learn otherwise. It's just too much to argue over silly stuff. Get your own lfm going and watch it fill faster. You will be done by the time the are about to start. got declined from tear on my monk cause they already had one. I went and soloed it while they stil had lfm up go figure....
