Default Connection to the server failed...

I was playing two days ago and logged off, when I went to sign on yesterday I got the message "Connection to the server failed" followed by a countdown. I've done some research on this and it seems that the GMs are going to completely ignore this based on past topics.

    Here's what I've done:

-Put my PC in my routers DMZ
-Turned off ALL security software on my PC
-Uninstalled the game and the .net framework and reinstalled
    -Tried running as administrator

I just started playing up two days ago (made the account in october) and get this nice treat waiting for me a day later. Is this what I can expect from this game? I really had fun playing this game but this is rediculous.

Edit: Looks like everyone just ignores this problem

Remember, if you haven't submitted a ticket, it's only random that you'll get hit up here by the DDO team. For bigtime issues, throw a ticket at them and they'll get with you.

I only just solved my own problem thanks to some posts here and over at techsupportforums.com.

As stated elsewhere in the giant pile o' posts here, check to see if you can connect to the net using IExplorer. If you can, I'm unsure where to go next. But, if not, DDO uses some of the same settings. Make sure that IE isn't set to 'connect through proxy server' or if you use a proxy, that the address is correct. During the last windows update, mine was reset to try and connect to... itself. I just resolved this issue a short while ago by turning off the 'connect to proxy' command and haven't had any issues yet.

    Hope that helps.

This can also happen if malware hijacks your IE like it did mine.

Angry Same issue "Connection to server failed"

I was playing a couple nights ago and logged out for a few hours, went to log back in (the same night) I got the Connection to server failed with the count down. I have read almost every post on any subject remotely pertaining to the issue and have had no luck. Even went as far as to uninstall everything and spend 5 hours downloading everything again, changed all firewall settings and the like and nothing has changed. I have sent a ticket and have not gotten anything back yet. Its really frustrating when you are paying for a game that you can't play.
